I picked up a copy of SSX3 from a local used game store yesterday and spent about an hour playing. Guys, for a game from 2003, that game is still pretty good, even if it does look kinda terrible nowadays. I had forgotten how relaxing it was to just drop at the top of one of the peaks in that game and just ride, pick up collectibles, bypass events, or participate in them all in one go. I pray the new SSX holds the same kind of vibe to it and it looks promising from what i've seen. Anyone else going on a similar nostalgia trip?

I tried to.. Like I've tried going back to many old games. It never ends well and I should stop doing it.

I really wish they'd release SSX 3 on XBLA. My copy of it (and my PS2) is 180 miles away...

I wish. My PS3 is one of those that uses software emulation for backwards compatibility and SSX3 is one of those problem games; can't get in for more ten minutes without it freezing.

Yes, I have. Been playing Tricky and 3. So many good memories.

I forgot how much harder 3 is as compared with Tricky, and how you pretty much have to completely readjust your playing style because long grab bonuses count more than trick quantity. From a high-level Tricky player, it's a very big (and annoying) difference.

Why don't they have an esports scene for this game, the one game I can play at that level?

@Aus_azn: I played 3 and then jumped straight to Tricky about 2 hours after playing. For me, Tricky is way harder. You couldn't just tilt up on the left stick to finish up a flip, which is a bummer for me.

Hell yes, I've been playing a lot of SSX3 and just thinking about what this one can be gets me all excited. Also trying to finish it since I didn't get too into it when I first played it, always liked Tricky better.

I never stopped playing SSX3. Ever since I first got it, I still go back to it every couple months or so. There's something oddly meditative about it for me.

I've been revisiting SSX3 lately. Use to play it on my Gamecube, so I was use to that control pad. Picked up a second hand copy on Xbox and using the 360 control pad takes a bit of getting use to, but it's a fun challenge.

I think that says more about your xbox. I played SSX3 on mine for hours a few weeks ago with no issues. You might wanna try redownloading your emulation files.

Fired up SSX3 immediately after watching that Road Show. Grabbed my buddy Mac, reset my save file, and started carving some snow. Been playing some old PS2 games, as of late, actually. Champions of Norrath is another.

Was checking in on a friends pets for a few days back in December.

She still had her PS2 set up and a copy of the original SSX.

Played enough to unlock all the characters and all the courses playing Jurgen.

Also played some SSX3 on my gamecube.
