    Overview

    The five players each choose one of the factions: Star Force Command, United Earth Government, Atakcian Federated Government, ExoFaun, Inc., and the Atakcian Mining Consortium.

    Story

    Luminite is a new fuel that the Atakcians introduced to Earth 130 years ago. It has eliminated Earth's dependance on fossil fuels. The Consortium is the largest producer of Luminite in the known worlds. Its raw form, a crystalline mineral, must be mined and refined into a liquid.

    Recently, the Consortium discovered a species of worm that appeared to consume raw Luminite. They took DNA samples to an earth exobiology lab, ExoFaun, Inc. ExoFaun engineered a new species that digests the raw Luminite and excretes an almost pure form of Refined Luminite.

    The Consortium now plans to deploy these worms on any alien worlds with Luminite deposits, even inhabited ones. These worms are gigantic and very fearsome. They endanger the lives of anyone on any world on which the worms are deployed.

    Earth and Star Force Command are outraged, and vow to stop them.
