cos if thers a monstor with huge arms trying to kill you it would be strategic to chop its arms off because it makes it much less dangerous as quickly as possible.

The name really only applies to a handful of games. I made a page called "limb targeting" years ago that got deleted in leu of this page, even though limb targeting is a more accurate description of what happens in these 52 games.
