Overview
Super Chain Crusher Horizon is an indie 2D sci-fi survival side-scrolling shoot-'em-up developed and published digitally by Mindware for the PC on September 25, 2012. It was later released on digital distribution platforms on September 22, 2014.
The sequel to the 2011 Xbox 360 indie game Chain Crusher, Super Chain Crusher Horizon uses a unique 4:1 ultrawide aspect ratio with a fixed 3200x800 resolution, requiring use of multiple monitors side-by-side (similar to the 1989 arcade game Darius) prior to the release of QHD+ and 4K-UHD displays.
It also adds two-player asymmetrical co-operative multiplayer (where player two is an assist ship that lays mines for player one to shoot) and the ability to charge up shots (for larger explosions and bigger chains).
