    How They Gonna Top This

In 1996 nintendo made a game called super mario 64. That game redefined platformers and all 3D games after it. Many dvelopers including nintendo have tried to capture the feeling of that game, none have been able to do it, until now. Nintendo has finally made a game that I think is safe to think that is able to superpass Sm64.

Presentation: Like almost all mario games galaxy does not have a heavy emphasis on plot. Bowser is back and he kidnappes peach and you have to save her. You meet up with a charecter named rosalina who helps you out. Rosalina has a secondary story but there is not much of a point to it. The cutscenes, however are very detaild and the menus are slick which overall make this a fantastic presentation.

Gameplay: The gameplay in this game is unsurpassed. The game takes place in space where you will go to different planetoids and fight many enemys. It still has its big envirnments though that you can have more freedome and move around in. There are aldo many uniqe and very enjoyable boss fights that require different strategys to beat. you can get 120 stars in the game but you can complete it with just 60, however getting all 120 is alot more challenging than getting 60. The game also has a multiplayer thing where someone else can have a wii remote and help you out through the adventure, there is not alot to it but its presence does not in any way make the game less enjoyable. You can collect different star bits and use them to throw at enemys. The remote is very responsive, you can shake it to make mario spin and aim at the screen to pick up star bits. The camera also works very well and you can press the c button to get it in the proper position. There realy is not a second of gameplay to not enjoy.

Graphics: This game realy looks fantastic. Not just for a wii game, but for a game period. The textures look crisp and clean both close and faraway. The charecter desighnes run fluidly. You have fantastic lighting affects not to mention the way the fire and water look plus some neat visual affects like explosions and the way charecters like bowsers hair move with the wind. Marios simple face shows a great amount of detail and looks better than it ever has. The art desighn is absolutely Georges though. The way many of the enemys and charecters and levils look are just spectaculer. There are also many different colors and variety in the look of the galaxys. To put it simply, this is one of the best looking games ever made.

Sound: The music in this game is just amazing, it is actually orchestrated this time around. There are classic tunes that have benn remixed very well and there are new tunes like the space junk galaxy and the melty molten galaxy. There are also neat sound affects like the fire and bowsers laugh. It is all just great to listen to.

this game truly shows what the wii is capable of in all catgorys. You will be hard pressed to find a game this amazing. It is a must buy if you own a wii and if you do not own a wii then it is worth scrounging up 300 dollers for, 250$ for the console and 50$ for the game. This is not just the best game on wii, it is one of the best games ever made peiod, Go Get It.

For the longest time, it seemed like something was amiss from Mario games. I would argue that it has been at least a decade since this “it factor” vanished. The product of this missing “it factor” was soulless gimmick titles like Luigi’s Mansion and Mario Sunshine. For awhile it seemed like Nintendo acknowledged this too, with shameless reaches at nostalgia like New Super Mario Bros and Yoshi’s 2. These were titles struggling to recreate the magic of better games by imitating them, step by s...

The Wii has its "killer app" 0

To be blunt, Super Mario Galaxy is a great game. Obviously the best the Wii has seen in this year it has been out. This is basically the game that nearly every Wii owner bought their Wii for. This is the game that hardcore gamers have been begging for. Although it is a fantastic game for longtime Nintendo fans, new and non-gamers will love it as well. For example, my six year old sister saw me playing this and asked if she could start a file. Nintendo has nailed it. The story, as in every other...
