Superman 64, Oh boy... Let's dive into the history before the review.
The History
Development of the game was largely hampered by constraints from DC Comics and Warner Bros., resulting in it being unfinished and of a poor quality. BlueSky Software attempted to re-do the game for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn, but due to Titus' expiration of the Warner Bros. license by the time it was completed, it was cancelled. So the game was crap. So now that you know, LET'S START THE REVIEW!
The Graphics
Jesus Christ, The graphics are horrible. Green fog, spazzy character animation, muddy graphics. This game is easily the worst looking N64 game. Horrible, just horrible.
The Story
Lex Luthor has created a virtual version of Metropolis and manages to trap Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen and Professor Emil Hamilton within it. Superman enters the portal to the virtual world, where Luthor tells him that he must fly through his maze of rings scattered across virtual Metropolis. After completing the rings task, Superman realizes he must save his friends from the virtual realm. Villains he battles along the way include Parasite, Darkseid, Brainiac, Mala and Metallo. At the end of the game, Superman frees his friends from virtual Metropolis, but Lex manages to escape, ending it on an unresolved cliffhanger.
The Gameplay
Holy crap! The gameplay sucks! So you fly through rings as superman, and save Virtual people. yay. The controls are spazzy and it is a challenage to fly..... The game never tells you what to do. Like on one part in the game, You need to blow out the tournatos. That doesn't make any sense? Right. Well, They say you need to punch them away.... Pardon my language, but WHAT THE HELL!!!!
The Music
*Insert generic superhero music here*
The Problem
Don't play this crap. Even if you are curious... DON'T do it. Everything in this game is crap on toast with shit on the top.
