Overview
Syd Mead's Terraforming (JP: Terraforming) is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up from Japanese developer Right Stuff for the TurboGrafx-CD. It was published in Japan by Naxat Soft in 1992, and in the US by Turbo Technologies in 1993. The American concept artist Syd Mead, best known for his futuristic science-fiction designs and contributions to movies such as Blade Runner and Aliens, was brought on to develop some of the game's artwork, including the player's ship.
Terraforming uses a familiar power-up system that either replaces the current sub-weapon or upgrades the one the player is already using if it is of the same color. The player's main cannon upgrades independently, while the "sub-weapon" switches between powerful but limited lasers, electricity shots that have a small amount of homing power and a spread shot that covers more of the screen.
