Is any one still playing this game on PC?

#1 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

I saw this game on amazon for $35 but I don't feel like picking it up if nobody is playing it.

So are there still duders still playing?

#2 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

Anyone? At all?

#3 Posted by Sackmanjones (5272 posts) -

I sure am not.

Damnit I'm sorry it's been a rough day

#4 Posted by me3639 (2006 posts) -

It's not on steam, yet, so no.

#5 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

@Sackmanjones: @me3639:

Well it is too bad no one is playing but I think I am still going to pick it up. Just because I don't think there are enough good cyberpunk games out there.

It definitely feels like a console game, I really like the world, the interface, but suffice to say I think the controls are it's biggest failure. Deus EX handles WAY better than this game does. It's really hard for me to get into mainly due to the lack of quick save or forcing me to play to a checkpoint to quit without having to run through a hall of bad guys, cumbersome computer controls and then dying only to repeat a sequence from 3 rooms ago to get where I just died again. Really, really turns me off about this game. I'm sure the multiplayer aspect is money, but singleplayer sucks gameplay wise which is a shame since the production and cast are so awesome .

I, too, am still undecided whether I should pick up the PS3 or PC version (not a Live Gold member so that's out of the question) since I definitely wanna play co-op with some randoms (none of my friends are into this kind of game).

#8 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

@137: Well as long as the world and the things in it can keep entertained I don't feel like it will be a complete loss. Also there is not much out right now and next week is spring brake and I have nothing to do.

#9 Posted by 137 (487 posts) -

I hear you, this is why I don't buy anything when it comes out and I just wait. I could always get arkham asylum and uncharted 3 to wet my appetite or one of those new hellish fighting games haha

#10 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

@DeF: I would go PC but I am a PC only guy. Also its 20 bucks cheaper for the PC one on amazon but if nothing else you would have at lest one duder to play the coop with.

#11 Posted by Christoffer (2159 posts) -

I liked the single player but co-op was the big hook for me. I played to death the weeks after launch so I probably wont go back anytime soon.

#12 Posted by Mnemoidian (1011 posts) -

@137: I dunno, once you rebind the breach button to a mouse-button, most awkwardness should go out the window - plays great on PC (and if it doesn't, try disabling vsync... made a world of difference in input lag for me).

I'm pretty much played out on the co-op, but I'll be playing some this weekend (in a fixed group, though), which may or may not reinvigorate my interest in playing more.... still have a 2% of challenges to complete, or something - those mercenaries are hard to find! :)

It's a shame there hasn't been better post-launch support though. Wonder if there are any DLC plans at all... guessing the poor sales probably means a "no" to that question. sigh.

It never will be either, it's an EA Origins game... CRAP!

@rb_man: A friend and I play on PC, and usually tend to just duo all the coop missions just since we're kind of picky about playing with unknowns. If you're really hurting for a couple of team-mates, it probably won't be hard to convince my friend to jump back in for a few. We usually communicate via Skype... I'm not even sure if there's built-in Voip in Syndicate now that I think about it.

It's unfortunate that this game was released relatively closely to MW3/BF3. It's more solidly crafted than many other recent shooters I've played.

Edit: Putting a video of us just as a proof of concept. If it sounds like I'm talking to myself it's because he forgot to record his mic.

Origin name Ashveil.

I actually just got it yesterday, but I haven't started playing it yet. I probably won't until the weekend. I saw it for $25 on Amazon after shipping, and I couldn't resist.

Co-op was great and I played the hell out of it for the first two or three weeks with other GB duders. It was easy to find games then, not sure how that's fallen off though, especially considering the lack of patches/any mention of DLC.

I'd say the PC version is the way to go - game looks significantly better and you'll have a 60FPS experience on even a modest rig, but I can't speak for the community as is. The co-op is decent but the focus on set enemy patterns and spawns means it won't last you too long. That being said, it certainly did get its hooks into me at least for a time.

#17 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

@Ubersmake: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF I just payed like $35 for it like 5 days ago but I am up for the coop this weekend

#18 Posted by rb_man (494 posts) -

@Grimhild: If I could get in like even one or 2 games with you guys that would be great Origin name is rb_man2142

Warp, Shank 2 were EA published on Steam.
KoA is on Steam, yet not by EA.

So WHO KNOWS. Maybe when EA feels like making some money off of Syndicate, they will publish it there too.

last time i checked it was dead. im not that surprised, but still kind of sad i did enjoy the game.

#21 Posted by MeierTheRed (5051 posts) -

I still haven't finished the single player campaign, and i surely will never play the online part.

#22 Posted by Draugen (831 posts) -

Yup. Still playing it, 19 years after it was realeased.

Oh, wait. That's not what you meant...

#23 Posted by Jayesslee (115 posts) -

I'm in the same boat with not being able to find anyone :/ It's such a shame though because it's the best part of that game and there were enough people near launch.

#24 Posted by Gnorbooth (296 posts) -

Well I just ordered it off of Amazon for like eighteen bucks. Once it shows up, if anybody wants to co-op, I am down. Kind of the reason I pulled the trigger on it, so a little sad to hear that it's dead. :(

#25 Posted by jakkblades (422 posts) -

I'm playing online if you want to play. username jakkblades

#26 Posted by abomunist (127 posts) -

Just played it again. I tend to dislike FPSes. And I adore this game. Worth it.

#27 Posted by ajamafalous (12682 posts) -

Can anyone else weigh in on the state of this game's coop? I think the game looks great but I don't want to buy it if I won't be able to find any games.

#28 Posted by Box3ru13 (740 posts) -

@ajamafalous: Not great. I usually seem to be about one of the few people playing. Forget finding a game with consistency especially on off hours. I mostly picked it up for the SP but coop has turned out to be such a damn good time I have been addicted to it this past week.

Origin name is Boxeru13 for anyone that wants to play. Fair warning, I'm pretty boss and usually score a shitload of points, like two to three times what my partners score and that's on normal difficulty.

I've started it, but I'm not sure how many people will want to play this thing on PC in the long term.

So far I have to keep a controller next to me as the keyboard equivalents do not always do the same thing pushing the button on the controller does >.>. It kind of feels like it doesn't deserve a PC audience.

#30 Posted by Draugen (831 posts) -

Yup. Still playing it, practically non-stop since 1993.

#31 Posted by Revolution21X (4 posts) -

So anyone on this thread still playing the Co-op at all. My Origin name is the same as it is on here if anyone wants to play a few rounds.

#32 Posted by warxsnake (2720 posts) -

Preordered it, installed it day 1, never played it.

this is the forum you should be showing off on

I just bought it a few days ago off of amazon as a hard copy as it is still 60 bucks on origin for some crazy reason. There is no one playing coop at all which sucks because I can only really make it halfway through a co-op mission by myself. :S

#35 Edited by Etnos (260 posts) -

@rb_man: launched it a few days back to finally finish the campaign after months. Couldn't find a single soul in the co-op afterwise.

It is a shame I really like the atmosphere, shoot feel and overall visuals.

#36 Posted by Gradev (44 posts) -

Crysis 2 was on steam, then taken off for over a year and resurfaced sometime this year. So who knows maybe late 2013 or 2014 it may end up on Steam.

#37 Posted by IrrelevantJohn (1166 posts) -

I bought it for $3 last month and only played the single player. Never touched the Co-op, but would like to play it if anyone is interested in it.

#38 Posted by McShank (1656 posts) -

i want it and will most likely pick up for ps3 as its cheaper now and i keep hearing pc controls are not the best. Plus no steam.. i only buy if steam supports.
