I used to play Hat Fortress 2 for a while but I stopped and now I don't know the prices on items. I have a scorching nappers respite and someone is offering $200 for it. Do you guys think this is worth it or could I get more money for it if I wait or look for another buyer?

    Thanks.

I think $250 is a great price for a virtual hat. Do it.

Fuck. Really? I should go play some TF2. I need to start suckering fools.

How absolutely and yet impossibly imbecilic does someone have to be to spend that on a virtual hat for a free-to-play game? You could buy like 5 full priced games for that much, and have enough left to get lunch and a cab home from the game store.

Careful, its not that hard to get ripped off selling hats for actual cash. I know a few people who have made and lost alot of money that way.

Make sure they give you the money first. Don't back down and give them the hat first.

So he tried scamming me. He got this guy who supposedly a trusted middleman, linked me to his rep status and everything. He invited the guy to the chat and everything. It was just an impostor account since the real guy signed up in 2008 and the impostor signed up in 2011.

    Damn.

People will pay that much for a virtual hat? But... that's so pathetic in so many ways. Congrats though.

Okay, maybe not so good reading that.

Well, that hat actually does have a value of $250.

I'm aware. It's still an incredibly shady thing to trade digital goods for real money on the internet without a 'trusted' middleman.
