    Overview

Tetris Kiwamemichi, also known as SuperLite 2000 Puzzle: Tetris ~Kiwamemichi~, is a falling-block puzzle game developed and published by Success (along with THQ) for the PlayStation 2 exclusively in Japan on December 18, 2003.

Part of the Tetris series of puzzle games, Tetris Kiwamemichi bundles the standard game of endless Tetris with three timed variants (Target, Hot Line, and Level Star). It also includes multiplayer support for up to four players, both competitively (with players able to perform several attacks based on clearing lines with special "Core Blocks") and co-operatively (with all players sharing the same 20-column playfield).

It later received an arcade conversion on June 2004, using Dreamcast-based Sega NAOMI hardware. This version updates the scoring system while addingh a fifth Tetris variant, known as Chain Colors and revamping the game's two-player multiplayer.

    Game Modes

    Single-Player

    • Tetris - Endless.
    • Target - Countdown timer. Several blocks are Target Blocks and must be cleared within the time limit (similar to Flash Point).
    • Hot Line - Countdown timer. Clear lines in specific rows within the time limit. Known in the Arcade version as Line Break.
    • Level Star - Countdown timer. Clear a certain amount of lines within the time limit. Unlike other modes, this one does not reset the board between each stage, instead adding to the timer.
    • Chain Colors - Added in the Arcade version. Endless. The piece that was used to clear a line causes all blocks of the same color to fall downward, potentially causing a chain reaction.

    Competitive

Compatible with up to four players in the PS2 version (using a multi-tap) and two players in the Arcade version. In the Arcade version, players can choose between Tetris and Chain Colors rules.

Certain pieces have special "Core Blocks" which, when cleared, cause one of several detriments against the opponent.

    Co-operative

Compatible with up to four players in the PS2 version (using a multi-tap) and two players in the Arcade version. All players share the same playfield, which is either 20 columns (PS2 version) or 14 columns (Arcade version).
