Great Remake of an instant classic, and worthy sequel.

Riddick AoDA is a game that is sure to please even the most die hard fps fans. Like its predecessor, it contains all the elements of a great fps with added elements of RPG and 3rd person plat-forming and adventure. Graphically, it is not the technical masterpiece Escape from Butcher Bay was back in 2004, and there is plenty of nit-picking graphical glitches that you will notice including off lip-synching and textures popping out of character models and the constant load times that takes you completely out of the action. Those problems aside, Riddick AoDA is a great game by any standard.

Game play; Is still some of the most enjoyable fps action you can get, although it is in essences the same exact game play of 2004 with added animations and finishing melee moves. The stealth portion of the game is still incredibly satisfying and is the preferred rout to take when you play this game. The gunplay is also exceptionally well and the weapons are fun to shoot and feel powerful.

Sound: Vin Diesel does another fantastic performance and without his bass driven vocals the character Riddick would never seem believable. The NPCs in the game all have unique voice overs and really helps immerse you into the Riddick universe. From the sound of gunshots to smashing an inmates skull in with an iron club, the effects sound both painful delightful. By and large the audio in this game is one of its high notes.

Graphics: As mentioned earlier, the graphics are decent but its no MGS4 or Killzone 2. With the 5 years they had in development I really wish they had ironed out at least the graphical blemishes that were in the original game. Riddicks Eye shine is particularly annoying, illuminated objects in a pitch black room to the point of blinding the player. Also the range of Riddicks eye shine is rather short and still feels like your in the dark. Chunky animations are also a consistent annoyance. At least in the PC version it apears that some of the cut-scenes were ripped straight out of the xbox 1 and had very low res. All in all though the graphics are nice though, and I enjoy the art style of the game.

Multi player: On PC multi player is sort of dead, and very hard to find a game of even 1 person, so pretty much it is wasted content for PC users.

Final Thoughts; With all this in mind, I would still recommend this game to anyone who wants to play a seriously engrossing and surprisingly deep fps. Riddick AoDA is not another Half-Life 2 where you play as a deaf-mute who stands idly by and lets people call the shots, no, Riddick is a seriously cool anti-hero and this is a game where YOU call the shots, and get rewarded accordingly.

You can stab people in the best ways in this game. 0

I jammed a shiv into a dude’s eye, wiggled it around to really, really dig it in there, and then pulled it back out before he was finally given solace, because man, I wanted him to feel all of that. The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena has that. Brutality seems to be a common theme with Starbreeze’s body of work, and they spare no details to the imagination with their kinda-maybe-sequel to Escape from . Two parts excellence and a third relegated to the ire of my fists, Assault on D...

In space Riddick will make you scream. 0

Another Riddick game, another chance to slice and dice as Vin Diesel himself. Seeing as there are many Butcher Bay reviews out there I'll jump right to the main attraction here which is the sequel(or more like expansion), Assault on Dark Athena.Dark Athena starts off where Butcher Bay ends. You and Johns are floating around space after your escape but run into some trouble when the rouge merc ship 'Dark Athena' harpoons you and drags you into to its docking bay. The captain of the ship knows abo...
