Story
The game begins with the main character, Hans, running around outside with his dog. Hans is a poor boy, his father has been away at war and he lives alone with his mother. This is his tenth birthday, and he comes inside the house asking his mother if she has any presents or sweets for him. Sadly, his mother says that they are so poor she could not afford anything.
Angrily, Hans storms off. "I'm leaving! I've just turned ten! I'm a grown man!"
After a series of strange events, Hans find himself inside the (very creepy) Castle Tenebre, home of Count Lucanor. He is told that Lucanor is dying and seeks an heir to his immense fortune. To become Lucanor's heir, Hans must pass a series of trials and survive the night inside the castle.
