The fifth installment in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls franchise is set in the eponymous province of Skyrim, where the ancient threat of dragons, led by the sinister Alduin, is rising again to threaten all mortal races. Only the player, as the prophesied hero the Dovahkiin, can save the world from destruction.
@MordeaniisChaos: Jerk? Yes, that fits quite nicely.
@Mr_Skeleton: I was bored, not like it's the end of the world that this is at or near the front. Just thought it might be kinda cool to look over things from some time ago, see what people were saying then compared to now.
I think it would be cool for the next game to go back to Morrowind. The land is huge, and a two generational gap means that there is tons of time, in-game and out, for things to have changed. The other provinces are all smaller then Skyrim so it would be difficult to do one whole game there.
Don't mean to rain on the parade, but it was pretty obvious. Many NPC's mentioned the current struggles in Skyrim--directly hinting at the sequel.
And many NPCS mentioned the "current" struggles in Morrowind and the Summerset Isles. But they were mentioning it 200 years before the setting of TESV.
Years ago when I was still playing Oblivion, there were already rumors that the next one would be Skyrim. Apparently Bethesda had bought the rights to the name "skyrim" or something. So when they officially annouced that it would be Skyrim, I wasnt suprised at all. So there isnt anything special about "calling it." The rumors have been going for years.
