The Incredible Hulk... No to incredible
The Incredible Hulk is another 2D platformer which plays like most on the market, except not very good. You take control of the beast and kill enemies getting in your way, but with lots of bugs.
Right from the get go this game feels broken and you can tell the developers just tried to cash in on the name itself, as the game isn't very good in any sense. It plays the same as all 2D action platformers, and doesn't have a nice sense of gameplay or feel like elites of the genre (Aladin). The attacks feel very broken with bad animation, and even when the Hulk jumps it looks very clunky and really shows the people behind the game just didn't try at all when making the game. Visuals looking average for the time, as Gunstar Heroes would make an appearance months later. The music and sound effects are alright, and are sctually pretty decent.
The game throws you right into action, as you will fight through many stages gathering items, and poses a very tough challenge, as most who will play the game find it very difficult to even make it past the first level of the game. The game will give anyone some sort of fun for a few minutes, but even after dying once or twice you'll find yourself turning your Genesis off, and not even looking at the game again.
The Incredible Hulk may have seemed cool to many if you had it as a kid where nostalgia can kick in, but one play now and it really shows its age, which wasn't even good at all for it's time either. I wouldn't recommend this game to pretty much anyone, maybe if you just want to try it out for yourself, but not a very good game in the least. The game could have been solid, and very fun using the given IP, but never really succeeded in the action platformer genre.
