The Stockade

History of the Stockades

The following is quoted from Blizzards World Dungeons site:
"Stormwind Stockade is a high-security prison complex, hidden beneath the canal district of Stormwind city. Presided over by Warden Thelwater, Stormwind Stockade is home to petty crooks, political insurgents, murderers and a score of the most dangerous criminals in the land. Recently, a prisoner-led revolt has resulted in a state of pandemonium within the stockade - where the guards have been driven out and the convicts roam free. Warden Thelwater has managed to escape the holding area and is currently enlisting brave thrill-seekers to venture into the prison and kill the uprising's mastermind - the cunning felon, Bazil Thredd."

Bosses of the Stockades

The Stockades is a rather odd instance, with few bosses that are more like trash mobs, and they drop nothing but quest items. There is, however, a rare spawn that drops some rare-quality loot.

Targorr the Dread
Targorr the Dread is a Blackrock orc previously imprisoned in the Stormwind Stockades before being let out during the riots. He was a brutal executioner under Gath'Ilzogg. He is accompanied by some normal trash mobs and he can make pretty high burst damage. He drops no loot but his head if you have the quest What Comes Around....

Kam Deepfury
Kam Deepfury is a Dark Iron dwarf arrested for blowing up a bridge in the Thandol Span, the area between the Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands. He had also murdered some men. He drops his head if you have the quest The Fury Runs Deep. He can also drop a rare-quality staff.

Hamhock
Hamhock is a two-headed ogre. He is the objective of no quests and he drops no special loot at all.

Bazil Thredd
Bazil Thedd is the lieutenant of VanCleef, and he leads the Defias Brotherhood in the Stockades. He drops no significant loot but his head for the quest The Stockade Riots.

Bruegal Ironknuckle (Rare)
Bruegal Ironknuckle is a rare spawn boss in the Stockades. He can drop a rare-quality fist-weapon, a pair of rare-quality bracers or a rare-quality dagger. You can easily see if you have this boss by standing in the middle of the instance, typing "/target Bruegal".

Dextren Ward
Dextren Ward is a magician of some sort, caught selling bodies to a necromancer. He drops his hand for the quest Crime and Punishment.

Quests of The Stockades

Listed below are all the quests for the Stockades. It is a dungeon located deeply within an Alliance capital city, so the quests are only for Alliance players.

What Comes Around...

This quest is recieved at level 22 from Guard Berton in Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains. The objective of the quest is to kill Targorr the Dread, a brutal orc in the Stockades, and bring his head back to Guard Berton.. The rewards include a choice between either a uncommon-quality one-handed sword or a uncommon-quality staff. In addition, you get around 2000 experience and 250 reputation with Stormwind. Guard Berton is located at coordinates 26,46.

Crime and Punishment

This quest takes you to the Stockades to kill Dextren Ward, a man who has defiled the dead, and bring his head to Councilman Millstipe. This quest can be picked up at level 22. If you complete the quest you may choose between an uncommon-quality pair of leather boots or an uncommon-quality pair of mail pants. In addition, it gives you around 2100 experience and 200 reputation with Stormwind. Councilman Millstipes is located at coordinates 71,47.

Quell The Uprising

The objective of this quest is to kill off the rioting Defias. To please the questgiver, Warden Thelwater, you must kill 10 Defias Prisoners,  8 Defias Convicts and 8 Defias Insurgents, The reward for this quest is 40 Silver, around 2650 experience and 350 reputation with Stormwind. Warden Thelwater can be located just outside the entrance of the Stockades, at coordinates 41,58.

The Color of Blood

Vengeful grandmother, Nikova Raskol wants you to go into the Stockades and kill some Defias and steal their bandanas when you're at it. She'll reward you with 40 silver, about 2350 experience and 350 reputation with Stormwind. Nikova Raskol can be seen walking around Stormwind in the Old Town district, but she stands still at coordinates 73,50, just outside the area with the Officer's Lounge, the Command Centre and SI:7.

The Fury Runs Deep

Motley Garmason wants you to break into the Stockades and kill a hated Dark Iron dwarf, Kam Deepfury. Behead the dwarf, and return the head to Motley to be rewarded with a uncommon-quality leather belt or a uncommon-quality two-handed mace. In addition to the gear, you will also get around 2750 experience and 350 reputation with Ironforge. To get this quest, you must have completed the quest The Dark Iron War.

The Stockade Riots

You've been sent to talk to Bazil Thedd. However, the Stockade prisoners have rioted, and in order to be let down there, Warden Thelwater demands that when you have had your talk with Bazil Thedd you will kill him, behead him and bring his head back to the beforementioned Warden. If you suceed with this, you will be rewarded with 25 Silver, 250 Stormwind reputation and around 2350 experience. This quest is part of a quest chain starting with a letter which can be found on the body of the slain Edwin VanCleef in the Deadmines.

Stockade Levels

To be able to enter the Stockades, you would have to be level 15. The level range of the monsters are level 23-29.
