The sequel to 2007's critically acclaimed role-playing game, The Witcher. Players again take control of Geralt of Rivia in this story-focused adventure.
I will get it after L.A.Noire thats for sure. The first was wasn't too bad, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's got that something you don't see much in RPG's now-a-days. [insert jokes about sex here]
I just wish they didn't have a deluxe edition only on steam, because I really don't want all that stuff that I more than likely wont use.
@Zimbo: Didn't notice that actually! That's great to hear, console gamers will have the chance to enjoy what is promising to be one of the best RPGs this year.
These guys have a pretty great track record with free stuff. Remember: the Enhanced Edition (essentially an entire overhaul of the first game) was 100% free if you already owned the previous version.
As for this trailer, I'm THRILLED. I really thought there was too big of a gap to continue the story directly, and I wasn't sure that they'd get the same voice actor for Geralt, but I'm very, very pleased to have been wrong on both points.
@ZeroCast: Thanks for sharing that secret screen dude :) Gotta love free DLC and as for the console thing it seems very likely that it will eventually come to consoles as the PC version apparently has gamepad support.
The audio mix is a little weird in the trailer but thats besides the point. Game looks cool, I still aint buying it but im sure it will go down well with all you dudes here.
Looks kinda cool, I kinda don't get the hype, but that's because of my ignorance on this game. Do I need to play the first game before jumping into the second?
I wonder if there's going to be any giantbomb coverage of the witcher since at least Dave is intrested in it.. I just want this game to be as big as can be because its going to be AWESOME.
well, thats it. I cant get more hyped, its impossible. That last gamespot trailer is just fucking amazing. How has Cd Projekt RED not been snatched up by one of the big publishers is beyond me, they have made 2 games, and look at the jump in quality from Witcher 1 to 2 (graphically), its like a leap in generations... but thank god they didnt, because they can do shit like FREE DLC like this. Having just finished the first Witcher (late to the party i know) i can safely say Witcher 2 will probably be fighting for GOTY on my list, and it might not even be a fair fight (unless Batman is truly amazing now that ME3 is 2012, and as much as i love Drake and Marcus shooting stuff while looking very pretty...Witcher 2 looks as pretty as those games from those trailers, if not more so)

They're a very talented group of developers who are clearly passionate about this franchise.
The original used last generation PC technology in the form of a custom built Aurora Engine (NWN), but with this game they've opted to develop their own (Red Engine), and tack onto it good middle-ware technology that's used in widespread form by many others. This results in the engine being less taxing on current mid-level PC's.
Yea the developers have always seem really dedicated to this franchise and this game looks like it will be everything that they wanted to do in the first one but couldn't due to budget constraints.

Free DLC sure is heartwarming :D.
they mentioned the free DLC in a interview this week, and they said DLC will be free, but expansions will be paid. Just a little heads up for when we get our expansion next year or whenever, people dont cry OMG LIARS. The dlc they mention is free is stuff like retailer specific pre order bonuses and what not
