So, I'm in Loc Muinne, chapter 3. I've been running around doing some quests and eventually came across a stairway that leads to the sewers. When I get down there I end up finding the room that the Mage guy alluded to after I showed him the "necromancy spell" that I didn't sell in Chapter 2. I move through the rooms and get to the boss dude, named The Operator. I end up fightin him and he spawns two rather powerful gargoyles. They kick my health down to 0 very quickly, but I don't die. I keep fighting, taking hit after hit and never actually die throughout this 15 minute battle, ending up finally killing The Operator and getting some good loot. However, now my vitality and vigor seem to be permanently stuck at empty. Is this some weird bug? I did searches online but couldn't find anything like this mentioned anywhere. Anyone experience this?

@UitDeToekomst: Same exact thing happened in my game, but it happened when you have to escort the girl through the forest near the beginning of chapter 3. I'm pretty upset about it because it wont change with reloads, and I haven't been doing multiple saves to keep myself from redoing the tough choices. The challenge is completely gone so I'm actually pretty disappointed...

UPDATE: Leveling up makes this go away.
