She graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelors degree in drama. Then, she moved to Chicago, Illinois to take night classes at The Second City. After that she was hired later by Saturday Night Live as a writer. Later she became head writer and was the first female head writer for Saturday Night Live. She used to host the Weekend Update with Jimmy Fallen and later Amy Poehler. Fey left Saturday Night Live to create her on show called 30 Rock. 30 Rock is based on her experiences being the head writer for Saturday Night Live. Tina plays the main character and writes many of the episodes. Tina Fey has starred and written many popular movies such as Baby Mama and Mean Girls. She also is married to Jeff Richmond and has a daughter named Alice.
