Hey guys,this is a question for people who played the Division beta.

As someone who hates bullet sponge enemies (unless you can gin up some reason for it like people having energy shields or advanced armour systems) and has no interest in loot, is the Division worth giving a shot? I would really like to play something multiplayer as I haven't played any MP game since the early days of DayZ as a mod. Some of the things in the Division look interesting but the enemies look pretty terrible and I'm just not sure on the combat.

If you don't care for bullet sponge enemies and especially don't care for loot I would honestly stay clear of this game. The Division is heavy on loot. Save some cash or spend it on a different game, this will more then likely dissapoint you.

I however have a group of buddies that can't wait for this freaking game to come out!

The beta is free for everyone this weekend and is up for preload now so why not just try it out?

Yeah, this really doesn't sound like the game for you. You also mention your want for a multiplayer game, however the loot focus is such to where the PVP is more about gear than it is skill. Least that's how it was in the closed beta.

Most enemies in the PVE areas can be taken down with one clip esp once you level a little.
AI enemies that do have armor take more damage of course but at least there is an armor type of health bar that you can see getting worn down.
Besides, it's an open beta, unless you have a data cap you should just dl it anyway and try it out.

To me the game is more Diablo/Destiny than a multiplayer shooter in the traditional sense. I like it quite a bit, but the Beta helped confirm a lot of what I thought the game was. I agree with @franstone that you should jump in and you'll know pretty quick if it's for you or not. I got a ton of time in the beta on both Xbox and PS4 (PC kept crashing) and maxed out the level for the beta, and kept going back for more. The beta just informed me that I did indeed want to check out the final product and it might do the same for you.

On the other hand I would say it is completely worth trying out now since it's free. Whereas if you still find yourself curious in two weeks it'll be $60.

It's free to try. Can't hurt to give it a shot. I didn't think I'd care about it at all, and I absolutely loved the first beta.
