    This weapon was originally developed from a farmer's tool due to the ban of weapons ownership in Japan.  This weapon is mainly a blunt force weapon and can be handled from the handle, or by the ends of the tonfa itself. The weapon can be swung in an arc like fashion to produce momentum to strike a target. Unlike Police batons, traditional tonfas come by pairs.
