Yeah, I also heard about this. It really sucks that they weren't prepared to show his reveal trailer at TGS and that we'll have to wait a month to see him in action.

So Niitsuma tweeted that we'll be hearing more about Phoenix Wright next week. So I guess as everyone expected except for a few people, he will be revealed at NYCC.
