Overview
Universal History of Light was released on February 9, 2014 on the Increpare Games website for free. It is an adventure game in the first-person perspective with a focus on exploration, set in an abstract world.
Story
The game starts with the player is guided by a service dog into a lecture hall. The lecturer talks about how dogs can be driven insane by aiming a laser pointer at them, and then points their laser pointer at the service dog as they proceed to talk about the universe's first moments. The dog then guides the player into the lecture board, which is now an orb glowing with crazy lights. In it, the player (and/or the dog) trade items with the inhabitants, which includes a homeless person, walking dog turds, and strange glitchy beings. Some of the "story" and dialogue is delivered through text displayed within the world. The ending sequence is started by bringing a key to a big gate-like object in this main explorable area.
Gameplay
The game has tank controls. It is not clear whether the player is controlling the dog or themselves, but the dog is always moving in front of the player as they rotate around or move forward. Items procured will be attached to the dog and listed on the top left side of the screen. These items can be used when the player moves to the right position, solving/bringing problems and sometimes resulting in getting another item.
