Overview
Uootoy 3671 is a deliberately-retro puzzle-platformer developed and published digitally by Mindware for the PC on March 13, 2024.
The eleventh game in the studio's "Video Game Classics" series, Uootoy 3671 is a remake of the 1984/1985 game Uootoy, which was a Japanese "type-in game" that later received a commercial release. In it, players guide the hero toy penguin Ten-Ten to the goal while avoiding obstacles. Along with jumping, he can drop blocks in front of them to create both a barrier against enemy obstacles and a tower for climbing.
The "3671" version includes a recreation of the original retail version's 100 stages, along with a new set of 100 stages (with the protagonist's girlfriend Tel-Tel as the playable character) and a built-in level editor. It also features updated gameplay, redrawn pixel-art graphics (resembling arcade games at the time), and a soundtrack composed by Junko Ozawa, Daisuke Shiba, and WING.
Unlike most of the studio's other "Video Game Classics" games, this release does not include any version of the original game.
