Overview
Valhalla Knights 3 is a fantasy action RPG developed by Marvelous AQL for the PlayStation Vita. The player is forced into searching for a legendary treasure, by the wicked emperor, as a newly arrived inmate to the prison castle, Carceron. The game is focused on 7-on-7 party brawls, and features a fully customizable main character.
Originally released in Japan in May 2013, it is due out in North America on October 15, 2013 from XSEED Games.
Story
The game takes place in a fantasy kingdom ruled by a tyrannical emperor. Obsessed with finding a certain legendary treasure, the emperor has conquered many territories during his search. Recently, he has come to believe it rests within the walls of Carceron, an old fortress now used as a massive prison. Carceron has become a lawless place which has made finding the treasure a challenge. Relying on the savage wildlands surrounding the fortress to keep it contained, the prison guards have largely let the inmates run the place.
The player takes the role of a soldier on the losing side of one of the emperor's campaigns. Forced into the tyrant's service by a deadly curse, the character is sent to Carceron as an inmate and told to locate treasure if he/she wants to continue to live. Alone in this harsh place, the character must gather allies and work to gain the respect of the various faction who rule the prison.
