Velasca is a minor antagonist in the Xena: Warrior Princess franchise, first appearing in the episode "The Quest". She is portrayed by actress Melinda Clarke.

A member of the Amazons, Velasca becomes Amazon Queen after defeating her foster mother, Queen Melosa, in combat. When Xena is killed by the Roman Army, Gabrielle travels to take her body back to her home village but is interrupted by the Amazons. Ephiny reminds Gabrielle that she is the queen by right of caste, and Velasca begins a rivalry with Gabrielle over the crown. After learning of ambrosia, divine good that will, when eaten, turn any mortal into a god, Velasca realizes her higher purpose is to not become Amazon Queen, but a god. She battles Gabrielle and Autolycus, with Xena's spirit controlling them, until Velasca falls to her death on several spikes on the ground.

However, she proved to be resilient, as she returned to the amazon village with the ambrosia. She became a god and hunted down Gabrielle and Ephiny. Ultimately, Xena decided to recruit Callisto into helping them stop Velasca. Despite Callisto's attempt to betray them, Xena manages to push both Velasca and Callisto (now a god as well) into a lava pit to trap them. While Callisto was eventually freed by Hope, Velasca never appeared in the series again.

Xena: Warrior Princess - Talisman of Fate

Velasca is one of ten playable characters in this fighting game by Titus Interactive. Like the TV series, Velasca has godly powers that focus on the sky - shooting balls of lightning, blowing gusts of wind, and creating miniature tornadoes to attack her enemies.
