I call World of Warcraft work and make fun of my friends for playing to grind; it's my opinion. They find it fun and keep on playing anyway.
 
To each to his own, but if someone else chimes in and says "I find EVE fun", don't come in and tell him he's wrong. 
 
For those with open minds: EVE is a very different experience than other MMOs. If you try it, consider finding a player corporation. The players are the people that shape the world. The people and events of EVE are unpredictable and remarkable.  The missions (aka "quests")  or mining are merely a means for making money to expand your collection of ships and equipment. I highly reccomend the player vs. player combat, though it will take quite some learning to become adept.    The game requires patience and a certain level of intelligence that not everyone possesses so don't feel down if you wash out.  Oh, and play the tutorial. It will help shallow the learning curve. "

The only thing that is apparent is that we're on a message board and that I was offering you my opinion. As you recall, you started us off on that route by offering yours. It would appear, however, from your giant wall of text, that you have decided to get offended. Let me set this straight. I've played EVE. I walked away bored, and I've told you why. I've played WoW. I walked away bored, but for very different reasons.  To each his own, indeed. But I'd invite you to never again tell me what I should and should not do, and I'd remind you that you did not say "I find EVE fun." Like all true fanboys, you said "I find EVE fun, and here's why you don't." Not content there, you then went on to say that if you don't find EVE fun it's because "the game requires patience and a certain level of intelligence that not everyone possesses so don't feel down if you wash out." From my experience I think you're wrong. The game requires one thing, and I think you are demonstrating very well what that one thing this. "

EVE is simply too much of a "niche" to ever become really popular, and a first person shooter would really show off what is EVE's actually quite interesting artistic design and setting as well. It looks like it might just be taking the few things I liked about EVE and subtracting the boredom. "

I thought it looked like a Killzone 2 cine-style Halo multiplayer fps in the EVE atmosphere. It says MMO, but the battles are obviously going to be instanced, which makes it an online fps with a hub.  Or maybe this is a bi-product of MAG. "
