Wow, I might actually want to buy Rock Band 3 now.  Hopefully there will be a live performance at E3 and some one pauses the game near the end of the song.

oh man if they did do this in 3d with those psychedelic backgrounds... I would love to see the reactions of certain ppl under certain conditions. i expect to hear "the colours are trying to eat me!!!

I wish they'd cut away from the actual gameplay a lot less in this, I don't think anyone's purchasing decision hinges on how the virtual band looks when performing.

You think THAT'S OCD? If they had the straps in, there would've been clipping EVERY FREAKING WHERE. Harmonix stated this a LOOONG time ago.

Glad Harmonix are adding more visual delights, some of the best stages in Rock Band 2 are the visual ones.  
 
Game is looking awesome, plus The Cure are always awesome.

@MattyT:  look, these guys know what they are doing..if EA has fairly realistically wavy hair in Tiger Woods, HMX can figure out a way to make guitar straps.. 
 
it is ocd though, i stand there singing and just thinking  "god...their arms must hurt" 
 
and dont get me started about musicians magically teleporting from one part of the stage to another.....Things only i notice.

@Phished0ne:  Undoubtedly, Harmonix knows what they're doing. In Tiger Woods, it's featuring one player model at a time, essentially worrying about three main areas for clipping (back, each shoulder, possibly the arms, which would make 5). For guitar straps to be implemented, you're worrying about that hair problem times two to three more places on any character model (Imagine when the characters are swinging the guitar around, and over their heads, or taking them off in order to elbow drop them), and then multiply that by two, while representing up to 5 character models at once. Logistically, at this point in gaming hardware, I'm betting it's too much of a hassle (especially with the high level of details of the models themselves). I'm not worried about it. Guitar Hero's models don't have guitar straps, either, and I bet PowerGig's models won't, either.
 
P.S. I REALLY hope you're being sarcastic about being the only person to see the people teleport around the stage. If you've put in around 100 hours, probably even less, you notice that, especially with the crowd diving. It's scripted loops of animation. It happens.

@ashogo:  That's not a Jimi Hendrix avatar. That wasn't a requirement of his inclusion in Rock Band games. It's a customized character. Even if you're referring to the song ("Crosstown Traffic"), you spelled the man's name wrong.

Can't Always Get What you Want by the Rolling Stones so needs to be in this game now with the keyboard. There's a fantastic piano bit at the end.  
 
My interest in Rock Band had waned a big bit in the last year, but it has been completely reignited now.

If you go to youtube and type Rock band 3, USATODAY has a video on the devs and they talk about how to use the keytar. By the way, "Break on through (to the other side)" by The Doors is in RB3.
