Loved the first two games. The trailers for the third have done a great job showing a ton of gameplay, and why this game is going to be amazing. Definitely looking forward to it.

I just hope the shooting is better than GTA IV, every game that has used that engine hasn't had the most fluid shooting, certainly not fluid enough for a Max Payne game. Probably not even the same engine, it looks decent, don't like fat balding Max, makes me think of a tubby Walter White.

Um, what? Hasn't Nate in Uncharted been doing this exact type of movement for years? Also, who thought it was a good idea to mess around with joystick sensitivity based on the weapon type? Major red flags for me...

OK, this will be the best shooter ever made.

There is really no doubt about it, they are making new standards with every aspect.

I feel weird about how polished and upbeat the narrator sounds, but I really do love when developers attempt to give even a small behind the scenes look at their games. The animations look great!

Does anyone else see Walter White when they look at bald Max?

Did you play Red Dead? That game had great shooting.

I really love the first 2 games, I just hope this can deliver. These behinds the scenes look promising but R* haven't got the best track record when it comes to actually shooting in their games (even though most of their games involve it) and it didn't really feel very good to me until RDR.

I thought it was much better than the shooting in GTA IV but it's still too stiff for something like Max Payne. Although I think that's more a problem with the movement than the actual shooting mechanics, and it's hard to judge from RDR since it didn't really have any of the guns Max would use.

This is a feature in quite a few games, and it makes sense in terms of realism and balance, does it not?

Yeah, this is what I am keeping in mind as well. I hope they are actually putting their all into making it feel responsive and not ultra-clunky, like GTAIV was. I never played Red Dead Redemption, but Max Payne, mechanically and fundamentally, has always had a much different kind of shooting system.

The only problem with the shooting I really had in RDR was the aim assist that was on even when playing on hardcore that slows down when you're over an enemy, made it really hard to run and shoot another person running in the opposite direction.

Red Dead Redemption also had an absurd amount of auto-aim. You didn't need to be accurate at all, just shoot near an enemy and the magic bullets would hit them, even in the expert mode that got rid of snap-to targeting. They must have felt some assistance was necessary for fast paced horseback shootouts without dead-eye / slo-mo, but they went overboard and it really sucked all the fun out of the gunplay for me. Way too easy. If there's any sort of aim assist in MP3, I hope it's an option you can disable like the first two on PC.

@Landon:Yeah especially the feeling of shooting someone and watching them grasp their chest over the bullet wound in pain(sounds sick I know)but probably the most satisfying shooting ever in a game. Not talking about like aiming and literally shooting just the end aspect when someone takes the bullet.Sooo much better than 90% of games that use the done to death rag doll physics.

This looks beautiful. Especially that animation. Makes pretty much everything else look incredibly mediocre in comparison.

And those mismatched weapon combos are bad ass.

You do know they confirmed a May release date, right? Sure, it got pushed back from March, but that's just because Rockstar has OWNED May for the past few years (With Red Dead and LA Noire previous examples) and probably feel it's a great window in which to launch.

Drake's walking animation changed depending on whether he was in combat or not, and that was the extent. Drake didn't change his movement depending on if his weapon was heavy or not. His shoot from the hip animation was the same for every gun in the game.

You don't get this kind of gun movement because in Uncharted you aim down the sights and you don't see the lower body. Have you seen how people move and shoot in multiplayer? It doesn't' look like this.

I know they said that, but I didn't see a change in the animation. I'm sure it will feel way different.

Looks good, I like the small details such as carrying the shotgun in one hand and shooting with the gun and rolling around on the ground. Though I don't really get why there would be such a big difference in speed swinging a shotgun back and forth as opposed to two guns, seems like an arbitrary movement limitation.

@Pezen: Its just a gameplay mechanic derived from real life. Bigger guns aren't as easy to move around with as pistols are, but this also makes for a good gameplay mechanic because you will have more power with a bigger gun, such as a shotgun or rifle, but you wont be able to move as much. It's like how in most shooters you move faster with SMG's, and they shoot faster, but they are as powerful, while LMGs you run slower, they are powerful, but the reload time is long.
