Looks like  custom soundtracks for me.

No Gwar, its a perfect match, you throw in some hall and oats and we got a game 

Death metal and black metal are severely underrepresented.  I mean, not even Death or Mayhem, arguably the two most important and influential post-80s metal bands?  But whatever, that's just the metalhead purist in me speaking.  Realistically, there's no way a big-budget modern game is going to cater to a small minority.  This soundtrack is a great balance of mostly great metal tracks with a handful of mediocre tracks in order to cater to the non-metalheads.  
 
Of course, it would have been nice to see some 80s Metallica, Iron Maiden, and 80s Megadeth (though it is nice to see a track from the 1990 Rust in Peace album, I prefer the thrashier 1986 Peace Sells album), but those bands don't need attention so I'm not complaining.  I'm just saying it would have been nice for Death to get some more mainstream recognition.
 
Anyway, here's hoping for another great game from Double Fine.

Ah man, no Rush (not that they're metal). Awesome soundtrack though. I wish there were some songs from the band Death. I love that they have Carcass and Iced Earth.

Fuck yeah Slipknot would have been great.  Metallica too (when they didn't suck). "

I'm also surprised neither Chuck Schuldiner (Death) nor Dimebag Darrell (Pantera) were represented in the game. If not their music, then at least a likeness. At least the Carcass track is one with Michael Amott.

Awesome soundtrack.  Yeah it would be nice if there was some Maiden or other bands, but this is what custom soundtracks are for people!
