Words can't express how thrilled I am about all of the condescending assholes and the cynics being wrong about Sony.

Agreed. I just watched this for the first time and can't believe it took 5 industry veterans 40 minutes to decipher the rules. At least they showed a little objection, but the kicker was how they still managed to take jabs at old Sony account policies in the process.

This is doesn't change a thing in my game buying or console using habits. There is nothing here that "hinders" my gaming or my experience. Only thing is my wife can now easily play online through my gold account. So... this is actually better for me?

I presume regarding the family thing is that you can play your local games from the disc, and one 'family' member can play off of the cloud. So, basically, the bearing capacity of the cloud is pitiful.

If what Jeff said was true today, apparently the DRM announcements get worse for Microsoft at Gamescom this year, so that's a thing.

Where did he say this?

It's so interesting to go back to this moment. Microsoft were out of their minds trying to pull off something so insanely convoluted and complicated. How was the mass consumer market EVER meant to get their head around half this stuff lol

One of the key moments of all this for me was Major Nelson 'schooling' Angry Joe on why a simple patch couldn't be used to reverse all of this. Only a week later was Angry Joe proven obviously right.

@gamerpigeon: Also interesting that the crew was pretty convinced that Sony would adopt similar, if not identical, policies.

Interpretive dance would have made more sense.
