i dont mind having celebrities in games, but when they fire old cast and replace them with all star cast in attempt to sell the game, they lost my money and respect.

I don't see whats wrong with this video, Alex needs to understand just being cynical and snarky for the sake of it isnt automatically hilarious. It actually gets obnoxious after a little while.

At a guess, I'd say all of these nun videos were produced at the same time. Either IO or Square paid for them so they may feel some obligation to use them to justify the original expenditure. This has the stink of money people making decisions and overruling any input from the actual developer.

@dezvous: You are correct, I'm not a super-long running fan of all things Hitman. I have played Blood Money, but that was quite a while ago, maybe two and a half years at this point, so my memories might be have been coloured by time (I do plan to play it again soon.) And perhaps it is just me getting older and wanting to play games that don't actively make me feel icky. There's something behind this whole marketing angle, though, that turns me off the whole thing, perhaps because it's what is so present and in-the-face at the moment.

My problem is the focus on slutty nuns shooting dudes, instead of how the game itself handles. It doesn't seem to actively benefit the game particularly much, apart from providing what must be one of the main antagonists. I can understand that sex sells, and all those old adages, but I personally feel like I'm past all that, and would rather either a sole focus on gameplay while leaving the story to the game at release, or no advertising at all, which is an impossibility. Of course there's a huge absurdist tone to the entire thing, and it was one of the defining parts of Blood Money to me. I honestly think this is too much, though; it's not female-empowering to me (as nebulous as that term is) and is going after a view which most games should be above anyway. But as I said, it's most of what I've seen about this game recently anyway.

So really this is a problem with me, not necessarily the game, although I perceive it as a problem with the game. I'm all for other people having an opinion, and please, don't have your thoughts influenced by some arsehole on the Internet like me. But, myself, I'll be waiting a bit to see how the game pans out and whether it is actually fun to play (I tend to play for either the gameplay or the story, almost never both; Blood Money was for gameplay. Although, if your sexual deviancy theory becomes correct, I may be persuaded. That's a more interesting angle than what I've seen so far.)

@RPGee: You've played the other games right? I wouldn't be worried, Absolution looks awesome. Please, explain what exactly has you so worried. I'm not being sarcastic or difficult, I am genuinely curious because I feel like I haven't seen a longtime fan of the series actually have a problem with these trailers yet. It seems mostly to come from people who haven't had experience playing these games or journalists who strangely make no mention of the series' equally, if not more, risque situations.

I've played the other games and this seems completely in line with what we've seen from the previous titles in the series as far as I'm concerned.

I understand if you have a problems with this, I could see how it might seem overtly perverse. However I feel like if you've played the past games, especially Blood Money, it really just fits the mold. We're dealing with a professional murderer. Sexual deviancy and things of this nature are very nearly the other side of that coin. They are so closely related in this (the one that we really live in) twisted world. To me, telling that side is necessary to telling that story or at least it has been in the past Hitman games. When taking that into consideration, I don't get that perverse and immature tone that others seem to be. With my knowledge of the previous Hitman games and how things of this nature have been handled, when I first saw that trailer I didn't think anything of these nuns. They're not much of a stretch for the game. And instead of seeing them as sex objects, I honestly viewed them as confident female badasses. It never came across to me as juvenile. Although I can easily see how it might be seen that way.

Ah! Right, I remember that. My line of thinking was "The idea of assassin-nuns is a profoundly stupid concept, in my opinion, that shouldn't be in the game." I openly think that the Saints trailer was hideous, and made me not want to play H:A. But, when I heard it was another studio doing that trailer, I thought that it might have been some odd extrapolation that wasn't part of the game. Seems like that's not it, and it has me worried.

In terms of this trailer, though, I only know that I don't know Vivica Fox is, but hearing literally anyone try to explain their apparent passion for video games makes me stop the video. This one came incredibly fast for me. Who she is won't affect the game, as much as any actor would, but serves to remind me of my doubts.

So yes, I gave it some thought. In my heart, this is some alternate-reality shit which is some weird way of promoting the game, and I hope it doesn't come into the game, but it probably will. Thanks for the concern, though.

I still don't know why people who work on something should not be proud of their work i.e. Vivica Fox being proud of here work in this game? What is so wrong with that? So in essence, everyone who is somewhat known and ends to work on a game, must hate his work and completely and utterly dislike the game or else his is faking enthusiasm?

She most likely has no clue about the Hitman series aside what she was told, she still can be proud of her work put into this game and which character she portrays in it, nothing wrong with that and I think that's genuine, as for praising the game, yes well what the hell do you expect her to say; "Nah, it's like you know a job, I don't care much for it, i got paid and I did that, that's all that matters to me."

Nobody would do that, even tho it might be the truth, it's like watching "making of" of any move, how long are they making those, did once any actor say anything bad about it? I almost guarantee, not.

Wow. Nope. 30 seconds in, and I couldn't stand it. I sincerely hope this is just marketing from the same team who made that first awful trailer, and won't affect the game ... but only time can tell, I guess.
