Yeah, there needs to be less cuts to the crew.  Having them on the bottom right while the action plays fullscreen would be fine for me.

I played and beat Dead Space 3 three times, and for some reason, I have little to no interest for this DLC. It brings absolutely nothing new in terms of weaponry nor gameplay... 
 
Plus, they seem to re-use the '' hanging upside down '' phase from DS2, which isn't as cool when used twice.

That would mean even if you are playing on PC like me, as long as you had either a PS-3 or an X-box 360, you can still play this dlc,  You are not screwed out of it, and to tell the truth, I wonder about them ever getting it to PC. They outsourced their PC side to another outfit after all for DS-2, if I understand right.  Just saying. "

It would have been nice if they recorded some new grunts and screams for Gabe.

The final 2 missions in Dead Space 2 really rubbed me the wrong way... I don't know why cause I loved Dead Space (the first) just got aggressively hard and felt like I wasn't prepared for it. Had to keep reloading from check points after dying, which I hate! Think I'll wait a bit before playing this thing, haven't even touched the online stuff.

what's wrong with showing the crew? haven't you seen Dead Space 2 gameplay before?

Shame its not coming to PC, but I wasn't a big fan of Dead Space 2. Not a big loss I suppose.

We'd love to have game up the whole time, but one of the stipulations of showing this much footage was that we couldn't show continuous gameplay footage for too long. To compromise, I did my best to only cut out parts where Brad was walking around looking for ammo, so most, if not all, of the action and environments are visible in this video. "

Not sure where your information is coming from, but you definitely need to own DS2 on 360 or PS3 to play the DLC on that platform. This thing isn't standalone.  Also, Visceral Australia handled the PC version of the game, so while you're right that the port was developed under a different roof, it was still done by an EA team. "

I played all the way through Dead Space 1 before 2 came out and I don't remember the Twitcher at all.

"@bybeach: The context of the use of "standalone" in that sentence was "separate from the main campaign of Dead Space 2", not "game disc not needed."  All of my sources say that Severed will require the original game to play. Which is disappointing, since I have the PC version. "

No they aren't.  Some of the slashers are faster than the first game's slashers but not as fast as actual twitchers. "

I was like 3/4ths of the way thru Dead Space 2 when my xbox red-ringed. I sent it off to be fixed, and am waiting for UPS to get it to my house. Thing is, I rented DS2 from Gamefly. So now I have to wait till my console gets back, make sure it's fixed, reactivate my GF account, put DS2 back on it, and wait for them to decide to ship it to me. Grrr.
 
The only recompense is that I got my xbox fixed for free, even though it isn't under warranty anymore (not even the extended warranty for RRs). For once, a customer service department screwed up in my favor.

I still have to beat the main game. I'm halfway through chapter 9 right now.

This DLC reminds of how in Resident Evil 2 after you played through either Leon's or Claire's playthrough you could then go through as the other character and play from their perspective of what they saw while the other progresses on their own. Seems pretty cool.

Man! It's crazy not seeing Ryan in the Captains chair. Not saying Vinny doesn't do a great job, but it just feels off. 
 
Edit:That water bottle looks very phallic...

When he said he was hung upside down in Dead Space 1,  he was for a bit on the last boss, Brad didnt recall.

Loved Dead Space 2 but I may have to wait because I'll be too busy playing Killzone 3 by the time this comes out. I don't like that they recycled a few areas of the second game, I'd like there to still be more newer areas.

i think that this game had the most potatoes its 4 predecessors.  you were able to shot the teddybears of those guys, i thought that was pretty dope
