I really should not be able to care about an Assassins Creed IV already, or really, any more AC at all at this point to be perfectly honest. But then they throw pirates in my face... god damn it...

This just makes me want to play Sid Meier's Pirates!

AC3 was supposed to bring the series around after stagnating. After the actual AC3, no interest in this.

Why would you buy it anyway? The gameplay would probably still be the same, so hyper repetitive and boring.

This may be the best AC game yet I liked the other ones but never loved the series but hearing that this is more open world and that some of the Devs that worked on FarCry 3 are working on this has me interested. I'm curious how the PC version will be now that it will be on the PS4 I'm guessing more npc's and a visual upgrade.

@Devise22 as much as I want a feudal Japan AC game, your idea for the Nazi germany setting is such a brilliant idea. Just the setting alone would make for a really cool game.

That looks really dumb, if you told me 2 years ago there was going to be an Assassins Creed game where you were a pirate maybe I would have been excited but I just can't see this going well.

I'm kinda in the same boat *rimshot* I love this idea and this trailer is rad but the rate that these are coming out bothers me. Brotherhood was the last really good one so you're talking 2 previous games that weren't great. Kinda worried about this but at the same time I really hope it's great.

God damn it, I can't say they didn't make me a little curious, the shit story in AC3 still has me angry, I want to know just some stuff. Also dude it has naked girls in it! Now I gotta know.

Still havent gotten around playing AC 2-3 or AC3 for that matter, but sure. This looks interesting.

They probably shouldn´t continue numbering these games, but other than that this looks amazing.

I can´t wait for a proper pirate themed game to come along. Risen 2 was alright, but this could be the real deal. I hope they go all out with this. I skipped the last 2 games, but this is a day one purchase if it´s a decent game.

This game has been in development since summer 2011, Ubisoft has multiple teams working on separate games at the same time.

I'm properly stoked.

I loved AC III, warts and all. I don't demand perfection from my games. I think gamer culture is too up it's own ass about what is 'worthy' -- and too frequently adopts this asinine baby-with-the-bath-water rejection of anything that doesn't measure up.

For the most part, I'm just looking for compelling engagement. I found that in AC III in spades -- especially the ship bits. The story fell apart and there were some wonderfully terrible bugs, and too many systems with too little meaning -- but I still had fun. It's a great 3-star game.

I also never bothered with Brotherhood or Revelations, so I'm not franchise fatigued in the least.

Arrr, avast me poop deck! Could this be the best Assassins Creed game yet and finally get me to play my first Assassins Creed game? Probably not, but I eagerly await the Bomb crew's assessment of the game and so does my poop deck.

Glad I'm not the only one. Take heed, future developers trying to make pirate themed games! Your efforts will probably just remind me of Pirates and make me go play that instead of whatever you're trying to do!

Edit: I just remembered the significance of my avatar. I've used it across the Internet for so long that I almost forgot I made it to be my custom Pirates flag, years ago... Just so happened it worked as a handy new profile picture, as well. I think I named my main sloop Foxfire or something thematic like that? Ah well. Pirates. They should make another one of those.

I really like the setting, but if this just play's like AC3 then no thanks.

I like how the only console logo they can't show is for the next Xbox so they still have to say "Next-Generation Consoles".

If this pre-rendered trailer is anything to go by it looks like they are adding proper underwater swimming. So its the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas of Assassin's Creed games as far as water goes.

Naval Combat was easily the best part of AC3 so more of a focus on that seems smart. Now I just need to get around to finishing AC3, as a matter of principle if nothing else.

Ubisoft always does this with Assassin's Creed, announce it with a cgi trailer. Though yes I completely agree that I think most people that follow games have grown tired of seeing cgi trailers.

I'm definitely liking this trailer more than the Assassins Creed 3 one, (although I still haven't played that yet).

I've always wanted an open world GTA style pirate game ever since I saw Pirates of the Caribbean, so if this can pull that off then I'm on board.

I love me some Assassin's Creed. Kinda would like to see one set in modern times though. That would be a pretty cool urban sprawl.

Looks stupid as heck. Especially if its focused on sea-warfare and that garbage from the previous game. The ship combat was as clunky and clumsy as it was inaccurate and contrived.

FINALLY! Its been forever since the last Assassins Creed game. I for one will never grow tired of this franchise 4 games ago.

Ubisoft will announce Assassins Creed V with ninjas next year. Is there going to be a mini game like avoiding getting scurvy or not losing an eye?

Haven't played a full AC since 1 this one might be different enough for me to want to buy it... or not. I will just wait and see what the reviews and quick look looks like.

Each year a new Assassin's Creed is announced, and each time there's a debate on whether the latest entry will mark a revolution to the annual franchise or a mere evolution. AC4 is certainly no rush job - work began in summer 2011, meaning Ubisoft will have been working on the game for a good two-and-a-bit years by the time of its release, using no less than eight studios.

WHOA mad props to the guys who made the art assets in this trailer. Not sure about the game, but as a cgi trailer, it's very pretty.

I like that the end of the trailer was like "oh yeah..um....there's stealth kills too"

So like Ezio but also a douche is what I'm getting from Edward. And ol' Blackbeard sounded like he really wanted to take the place of one of the ladies lounging on the bed with the way he was going on about the guy.

The trailer did nothing to sell me on the new protag (screw the haters I liked Connor but even if I didn't Eddie here is kinda leaving a bad taste in my mouth already), but I think if they tweaked the already fun ship battling a little more it could be a decent game. Maybe even an actually good game. Maybe even an actually good game with no hindering weapon bugs this time around.

At any rate I'm probably just gonna wait and buy it used.

It looks like their treading familiar "Waters". No, but seriously it looks pretty interesting. I'll certainly keep an open mind.
