Typo in the title? Or does this game have a strange name?

Posted by kishinfoulux

It was great to see the actual RPG part of this game. Really interested in this.

Comes out the day after my birthday so it does so a nice little belated birthday gift from Ubisoft! Man, does this game look gorgeous! Don't know why but I thought about Outland while watching this.

Wow, this looks really impressive.

I'm actually more excited about Valiant Hearts. It's an under- or even unused setting for its genre.

But yeah, this looks fricking great.

I have a hard time believing whatever story this has will hold my interest, but maybe the gameplay and art will carry it.

This game made me realize where some of the classically trained 2d animation artists that Disney and other companies used to employ went.. Feels nice to se really vivid beautifully animated 2d graphics. Weird thing about it is that the 2d revolution is more impressive than what's been going on in 3d for some time now.

Oh, that's more glossy now? Mmm, glorious. Very exciting *yawn*

The skill tree looks pretty mundane: +1MP, +5 Defense etc.

A Grandia-style action-time bar for combat? Cool. Always liked that system.

really not into the art. I appreciate the water color look, but the actal content of the designs and the art direction is just kind of generic. Their water color aesthetic is a bit mushy as well. Also I can't stand the main character's design.

Shoot me, but I don't think this looks good at all. I really don't like a lot of "digital painting" or what ever you would call it. It's a weird middle ground between something that's obviously made on a computer, with clear colors and lines, and then real hand painted stuff. I have the same problem with Broken age, I really like the style, but the execution is just too "fake". The differences are really clear if you look at something Nathan Stapley has hand painted and something from the game. It has the same style, it just looks too un-textured and flat.

It's probarly just me who's too picky.

So it combines an rpg system and platforming. I'm interested. I love the look too. Can't wait to actually play it.

Omg - can't wait.

Looks, pipe dope.

Is it a downloadable or retail game?

Looks cool but the main character doesn't seem to fit (maybe that's the point but im not a fan)

Please be good. Please.

Edited by mdmac92

Maybe I'm just a cynical asshole, but nothing about this art blows me away or makes me want to play this. Especially seeing as the gameplay and narrative don't seem like anything special.

Looks nice.

There's a lot of people in these comments who have evidently lost the capacity for joy.

Cool trailer. Game looks great. I'm glad they're finally using that Ubiart engine for other games besides Rayman.

It's still my favorite JRPG battle system. If this game carries over the cancel/counter mechanics from Grandia as well, that would be fantastic.

Ubisoft has been killing it with the downloadable games.

The art looks great and it's an RPG side scroller type of thing. I'll keep an eye out for this.

Posted by Aeterna

This reminds me so much of Aquaria. Which is an excellent thing.

@aeterna: I was just going to post that and was wondering why no one else shared my feelings, and then I scrolled down to the last post :)

YOUR CLASSMATE'S STEP-SISTER IS A WHORE!!!! Pretty game....I'm sold.

Great art style.

This still isn't Beyond Good & Evil 2, Ubisoft.

Looks so freaking good

You're absolutely right. This is much, MUCH better. Keep it up with the Ubi Art, guys. It's awesome. Also, love the Mike Stoklosa vacation avatar pic.

The name is the same as this song. It's weirding me out a little.

The art department get's a giant gold star for this.

Edited by iBushido

Wow, I'm not even into this kind of game, so I'm really shocked to find out that art style means that much to me, because I really, really want to play this.

Edited by skunkdragon

Meh!! think i'll give it a miss. Doesn't look up to much just another side scrolling puzzler, level up save the world blah blah blah.

Dat Hair!

@suits: Yeah, picking "+1 MP" 120 times does not make 120 different skills.

Posted by TMThomsen

I can respect it, but man I really dislike that art style.

Posted by benderunit22

Still looks good, but nothing about it seems as mindblowing as the press makes it out to be. I mean, the graphics look sort of like Braid, but the animation looks wonky in a Monty Python way. And the combat system looks like typical retro RPG style that people would call Square Enix lazy for, if a Final Fantasy game were to use it.

Everyone is loving/hating this trailer for the art but I think the music is fantastic. I've watched it multiple times now just to hear it.
