I hope they don't humanise Isaac too much. Not knowing much about him/having no dialog (aka the Gorden Freeman effect) added heaps of  interest to the 1st game. Even worse - he'll have dialog voiced by non other than Mr North

I never understand the appeal of mutes even though they show their face (which defeats the whole "it's you in the suit" to begin with).
 
But yes, if they Nolan-fied his voice, I would probably not buy it if it reminds me of his Nathan Drake character (shouldn't since Issac looks like in his 40's, but you never know...)

The design of this suit completely fits within the style and design of anything else in this universe. The suit he has now is for military purposes, from a story progression standpoint, doesn't it make complete sense that Isaac would ditch his Engineering suits for something that clearly allows for greater mobility and combat effectiveness?

The first is one of my favorite games of the last few years, so I'm totally stoked for more.
 
I also like the fact that Issac's apparently got those psych examinations and then he's totally stone faced at the end. I hope he stays some cold, necromorph killing machine like in the first.

Him being mute was stupid. You couldn't build enough care for the character because he had no personality, it was easily one of the weakest parts of the game.

The trailor is....interesting? to say the least. 
I mean dont get me wrong I'm trying to be as optimistic as I can with this, but from all the things I've read and the little to none footage that they've shown it still seems really sketchy to me. there are things that I really like and there are some things that I really dont like. and that bothers me. 
 
But I guess I'll have to wait it out for now...

Dead Space was definitely one of my favorite games of '08 so I am stoked to see this come out.  The helmet looks pretty cool but I hope the overall look of the armor captures the same feel I got from the first game, which is that the "armor" is more of a wearable computer tower for a member of the space geek squad fixing your space station.  They called it a "rig" for a reason so I hope they don't make it look more like military armor or something.

Loved the first dead space so I am stoked they are starting to have reveals for this. 
That being said the one thing I do hope they change is Isaac not talking. That was unnecessary and they should retcon that or whatever its called and make him talk now. At least if they're gonna focus so much on him like they did in the first (in the way they did) I feel it would be better if he spoke. Just my opinoin. 
 
This didnt hurt the game that much, and I have played it several times (playing again now actually, on my third play through) and I am eagerly anticipating this game. Some interesting teasers there, i cant wait to see what else is in store for this game. Should be interesting.

Meh. I dont think it's that good a trailer. There's too much going on...noise and chaos. They may not even understand what makes their own franchise great.

@CornBREDX: They've already stated that Isaac will talk, which pisses me off.  He was a good silent protagonist.  I don't need him to narrate what was already a great experience and story.  I'm also afraid it's going to ruin some of the atmosphere hearing him yell "OH SHIT" when I'm yelling "OH SHIT".  The silence helped make me feel more alone in the experience. 
 
As for the trailer, it's too much like the Dante's Inferno trailers with that ink thing they are doing...and Dante's Inferno was crap... 
 
I have high hopes for this game.  It better not fall flat.

Fair enough. It is possible I didnt like it only because I was playing so many games that year with silent protagonists that I was sick of it. 
 
I will say this, though, the writing for a silent protoganist requires some subtlety. Quite often in the first game, to explain things about your character they would have another character asking a rhetorical question then follow it up with an answer to tell you something about the character your playing that you need to know. Granted this adds to the mystique of Isaac, which is always interesting in a protagonist, but I did not feel it was done well in the first game and was my only problem with the first game.

Great trailer. Although I still have reservations about this sequel even existing, I'm still a leeedle bit hoping that it brings back the magic of its predecessor. God, Dead Space was the most fun I had garnering 1000G.

How many quality action survival horror games exist? FEAR (arguably), Resident Evil, and now Dead Space. More pessimism is what this world doesn't need.

Lookin' good. Easy to tell it'll go with a much more head on approach, now that the premise is set with the necromorphs and the crazy cult and all that. Ah well, the first dead space was more like an action/horror game to begin with.

Building care for the character in a surrounding such as that would have been distracting. It icolates you further when theres no personal feelings being thrown into the works. It was all about the survival element. Isaac didn't need a "goal". It was simply just get the fuck out of there while wondering about his girlfriend - which doesnt need to be portrayed vocally. I don't know about everyone else, but i got the general idea of how Isaac felt about his girlfriend without the use of words. The silent hero worked like a charm in Half-Life for the same reasons. To me, Dead Space is just plainly the wrong game to have a chatty lead character

O hellz yes! finally, a good horror game returns for round two.
