Deep Down Now Suddenly Channeling Assassin's Creed

So, I guess they've taken a page from the Wizardry school of fantasy adventures? Call me crazy, but that concept and the other features described actually make me way less interested in this game.

If it's basically Dark Souls meets Monster Hunter, I don't understand what the Assassin's Creed is doing here. Solid concept if they get the combat and atmosphere right, but honestly I'm more excited for Dark Souls 2. Also, doesn't look as good as the cinematic teaser did.

I'm getting a distinct Resident Evil vibe from the animations and the character movement (that roadie run in particular). So I'm beginning to think this is more Assassin's Creed 1-esque hub world + Resident Evil game play + medieval monsters and setting.

Just having dark fantasy doesn't mean it's like Dark Souls and I'm really not getting that from this trailer at all.

EDIT: Just watched the game play video. This is Resident Evil style movement and fighting, so people need to stop calling it a Dark Souls clone just because there is a dude in a suit of armor.

For those not really following because the trailer isn't all that great.

It's basically Demon's Souls with random generated dungeons and enemies with hints of the future elements just like in Assassin's Creed. There is going to be a strong focus on online, they later showed a bit where 3 players were trying to take down a dragon so a bit of Monster Hunter thrown in there as well.

There is also gameplay footage you can find around but it's basically Demon's Souls.

Voice acting continues to sound hilariously awful. But otherwise I'm still really intrigued about this game. A Demon's/Dark Souls clone but with randomly generated dungeons sounds pretty alright by me.

I can't tell if this is going to be the greatest thing ever or the greatest disappointment. I wish trailers wouldn't feel the need to be so fucking cute and mysterious and just show me the damn game and how it plays.

Is this smoke and mirrors supposed to excite us? Or is it just hiding a shitty and uninteresting game?
