@snide: If the Bombcast is going to have ads and/or sponsorships, I'd be fine with that. Most of the podcasts I listen to regularely have those. But one thing that bums me out is that the deals they advertise on there (like a free audiobook from Audible or "click on the Amazon banner and shop as normally to support us") aren't good over here in Europe - which actually hinders my support of said podcasts.

I can imagine they would be hard to find, but would you go out of your way to hook up with partners who give me, living in Germany, the opportunity to support you? As I said, I'm fine with ads already. But some added value would actually make me appreciate them.

Jeff should just plug the big red phone at his house and let ppl call him. I can just imagine the phone flickering in his room at 4am when he's called by a european dude trying to ask if a game has "ze multiplayer".

I'm just joking around I don't want him to do that but the big red phone needs to come back and be good to listen to.

You guys should hire a cartoon artist again for your reviews and posts, think it works well although the current ones are pretty limited, need like 10 avatar pics per person.

There's that one duder in the forums (sorry forgot his username) who redid all the GB staff members as Persona 4 characters and they are absolutely amazing.

The problem is, the Bombcast is one of the more heavily produced things on the site. I wouldn't fault them at all if they found sponsors to mention on it.

I want to repeat the request for My Brother My Brother And Me MONEYZONE-style ads in the Bombcast.

I would be totally fine with the bombcast having advertising. Better than say... splitting it into 2 parts.

Dude the same exactly thing happened to me. My call is at like 55 minutes or so, I'm the guy suggesting the feature where they workshop how reviews are done. I was so nervous and I knew it was coming through in my voice but I just tried to hold it together and relax. I don't know why it happened since its not something that happens to me in everyday life. It was so strange. It's like after years of listening to these guys talk in my earholes about videogames, they finally are talking AT me and I flip out. I suppose the same thing happened to you.

Yeah that is really good! I'd almost indulge the idea a Persona 4 theme for the site? If they can't pay him, the publicity would be well worth it for an upcoming artist.

achievement lists, bombcast, BS-free videos - my 3 top reasons for coming here. Don't fuck it up.

If any of the 300,000 listeners complain about a ad that helps pay for a podcast that they have probably already heard over hundreds of hours of, they are entitled douchebags.

@snide A question I have is will you implement a auto play feature for the endurance runs and other multi part features. I tried getting into DP endurance run but the auto button would always take me to random videos.

Just a month or two more and the wait will be over.

EDIT: Also, I think Jeff is on to something with splitting the bombcast in two with the first half being free and the 2nd better half for playing members. It will be the half where the crew gets real.

@Bourbon_Warrior: If it stop the podcast from being split or totally messed with then yeah shove a couple of ads in, Hell they used to play a 30 seconds break music. An ad there would not have bothered me. Maybe 1 min of ads every hour of the podcast. I wouldn't mind at all. When you download a podcast you can just skip the ads anyway. But if they were tech/gaming related then sure just do it. Ads pay for the cool stuff, that's just the way things are. As long as Ads are connected to the thing in question then i don't ever see a problem with a few ads.

There has been a pretty big lul in Sub content lately, but I still prefer the idea that they are in league with us for their profits rather than skeezy marketers.

Shout-out to the This Day in Giant Bomb History feature implemented by the 2018 site redesign resurfacing this video talking about the then upcoming 2013 site redesign. Giant Bomb was a crazy place around the CBSi purchase.

What an interesting and serendipitous video to watch after the 2018 Giantbomb site re-design! Haha.
