when did dante go brunette?

da fuck is an Emo?   When they made a prequel does that mean they're ending the series?  I noticed
that it has been done so far with Halo Reach & Star Ocean.
 
The game doesn't seem to look anything like the previous DMC game.  Alright, now I'm confused.

If you were born with white hair and didn't know the reason why, wouldn't you dye your hair to hide it?
I'm betting this game is when he finds out about his demonic heritage; he has no idea what he is before that.

I don't know what I think about this.

Never really went for these games but if your going to redo Dante, someone just fucked up. That dude is ehh. Well I bet enough people will complain where Capcom will do the same like Insomniac did to Infamous and change the dude again.

Like many other people have already said I don't want Twilight in my Devil May Cry. I played all 4 games and after Bayonetta I assumed Dante would need some changes to compete. This is not how you do it.

What the FUCK did they do to Dante?  Look, DMC2 and DMC4 weren't exactly shining beacons of light, but why the FUCK would you "reinvent" Dante?  DANTE IS DANTE!  That's like saying "hey, let's reinvent Mario" or "let's reinvent Zelda" or "let's reinvent Master Chief". 
 
Moreover, who honestly thought giving the franchise over to the Heavenly Sword guys was a good idea?  Do people remember Heavenly Sword...and how mediocre it was? 
 
*ugh*  I just don't think this is going to be the DMC game that I want to play.  Hopefully, they can change my mind.  All the pieces just seem like one big clusterfuck of mediocre.

Still uses two pistols and a sword, still flipping around all flashy...looks  like any other DMC to me, just Dante before he dyes his hair and teen angst phase.  Not having white hair is the first thing people complain about?  It's not like Dante sprouted tits and put on a lady gaga outfit.  The appearance thing is minor to me.  What does concern me is that ninja theory is working on the game.  Heavenly sword didn't do much for me except look pretty.  Hopefully, Enslaved has substance and changes my mind about the developer.   So the direction and what they can do for the franchise....I would say that is more interesting to discuss than a hair change.

I, in all honesty, have no idea what to think about this, I'm gonna have to seem some gameplay to see if it's worth it, but I do know that I am definitely not a huge fan of the design they've given Dante, it just seems off to me.

My god. I don't think that I have ever been so excited for an action game before. I love the fact that Ninja Theory seems to have taken the best parts of Devil May Cry and Jet Grind Radio then mashed them together.
I might actually pre-order for once.

Does anyone know the music that plays when Dante is being all badass?  Or is it internal game music that Ninja Theory has made?

Ninja Theory is an off-wall choice, could end up being pretty good we will have to see. Going even younger than DMC3, that is a weird trend; I now expect a sequel with him as a 8 year old at some point.

Sounds good to me. DMC4 was terrible.

I don't get why everyone seems to be ragging on this. A lot of the complaints are ill-informed. How do you know that none of the characters you like won't be in it or that the level design will suck?
 
As for the hair, well this is clearly prequel territory so I imagine the grey hair will probably show up near the end when you got some fancy power up or something.
 
Besides, this is a shitty franchise to cry about anyway, it's never taken itself that seriously.

Prototype May Cry? They seem to have gotten the Alex Mercer and Dante models mixed up.

But really, Ninja Theory is a young studio that shows a lot of promise. Heavenly Sword would have been a defining game for the PS3 if the combat had been more polished, and maybe the game was a little lengthier. But Enslaved looks absolutely stunning.

I'm not sure about the game but my doubts have nothing to do with the character design and everything to do with the DMC style frenetic gameplay being attempted outside of Platinum Studios these days.

By the way, has anyone considered the possibility that we probably haven't seen what Dante will look like AFTER escaping the mental institution?

I haven't been into DMC for a while, and this looks interesting... so I'll give it a shot.

This is different from what I'm used to and therefore an abysmal and awful abortion of the series.

Well, I'll hold judgment. Going by the name, it's a reboot, so I'm open to a new direction. But if this new direction is the whole "darker and edgier" deal, then it's going to be hard for these guys. DMC has already gone that route once, and I think we all know how that ended.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is horrendous. 

I find it funny how people call this version of Dante more emo than the original... People, Dante and quite honestly the whole DMC series screams self inflicted emo shrieks.
Never really liked the DMC games, but the trailer made me interested. Actual colors in the environments is a welcomed touch, oh and sunlight! Can't say much more from this trailer though. Its interesting, I'll give it that.
