Driver Teaser: The Return Of Tanner

I remember that part of Driver. A nice touch on the ad department for those who been there when the nightmare began. Though i still say that Driver (the first one) was a pretty good game. I spent a lot of time trying to do that slalom between the posts, pull a 180 and drive back in time.

 OHHH SHHIII.....  Although it was live action, the whole Driver 1 reference was awesome. I loved Driver and that damn checklist took me a million tries when I was akid but it was so satisfying when i finaly beat it. Hope to see more of this game. Definately piqued my interest.

Man I wish they would make a new Driver game like the first one. I really miss the 90's sometimes.

Driver is fucking awesome. I liked Driver 2 and I liked Driver 4 and I liked exploiting glitches in Driver 3. 
 
The era change in Driver 4 was a cool addition to the story, one which I have yet-to-see another game replicate. It was F* epic when you reach modern day and you have to chase some guy down and the city has changed and everything looks different and there is way more traffic aaaaaaaannnnddd your chasing some guy through the traffic (car chase) & on the radio player it goes "Move bitch, get out the way, get out the way!".

Why?

That brings back good memories, those trials at the start of Driver 1 were a lot of fun. Also please let this game have licensed cars!

Oh man, to those who are unaware this video pays homage to the training level in the first Driver, even the check list.
 
I played the hell out of Driver 3, i hope this comes to the 360.

Judging from the trailer, they're gonna force us to do that borderline impossible tutorial from the first Driver all over again. Wonderful. Just let this series die now, would you?

That reverse 180 would never have passed the original checklist.

Nice little homage there to the first Game.

Driver was "awesome". Driver 2 was "OMFG YOU CAN GET OUT OF THE CAR". Driver 3 was "meh, looks alright i guess, ive got other things im more interested in playing".  Wait, this is driver 5? There was a 4th? 
 
No idea what its going to be like from this but im not really gonna get my hopes up

I reckon Driver could be a good game.

Would it hurt people to be a little realistic and try when making a trailer?  Look at that license.  I dont know about other states but I am sure most do, but the California license is not some laminated piece of paper.  Its a card, printed out, like a credit card.  Not that flimsy crap.  Just pointing out that they arent starting to get the series back on track.  When a game about cars and driving, can't even get a fake license prop right.  Come on now! 
And that trailer was crappy except for the car.  But what the hell was that whole year thing?  He goes from one older mustang to a slightly newer one but still old.  Shoulda stayed in the first one.  And then all it makes me think is you gonna have to do the training stuff like in the first game.

The glitches is DRIV3R gave me ours of fun. That was one of the best worst games ever.

first two were great. Went all to hell after that. hope they bring it back to why the first one was so awesome

I would love to play a good driver game again, hope they took lessons by watching other games do it better then they did but i will always remember the first driver game.

Hahahaha, that's a great trailer. I still remember the pain in the ass tutorial / practice section in the underground garage from the first game.

First was decent, second was so bugged I couldn't finish it, never played any of the other Driver games after those though. Just remember it taking me a long time to get by the training part in the first game (this trailer.)

Woah! Talk about memories flooding back to the first game all those years ago!
 
Was very much ahead of it's time IMO. Just a shame it wont ever go back to that simplicity of doing driving machines and nothing else. The second game was a letdown because of the out-of-car nastiness.

Hopefully this won't suck, 1, 2, 3, and Parallel Lines (also '76) all sucked. Hopefully this won't be as mediocre.

I would much rather Sony make a good Getaway sequel... they were making one and then it got postponed....

if it's not set in the 70s what's the point? i never played 2 or 3.

Oh God, that trailer just gives me flashbacks of how annoying the "tutorial" was in the beginning of the first Driver game.

I remember playing the very first Driver. A driving game using the d-pad on the PSX: ARGH! 
 However, I did rather enjoy Driv3r (despite the stupid name). I also seem to recall that they had predicted the next Driver game would be a retro-set one (someone else on here mentioned a 70s setting, which I think EGM reported on a couple years ago). 
 
It could be awesome. And hey, it's not like we're drowning in a deluge of good console games these days <sigh>.
