Really not a fan of the loss of blood which is so freaking apparent in this game. You use a fucking sword, so there should definitely be blood.

Nintendo wants to bring you an exciting new Red Steel experience for the whole family! Chop dudes up with your kids!

I thought this was shown at the Ubisoft event?

This looks like it could be a decent game.  Of course I'm the kind of guy who played through Dark Messiah multiple times.  I guess I'm a sucker for first person melee.  I do agree, though, that if you call your game "Red Steel" and leave out the blood that's kind of ridiculous.  But I think they handled it well.  The "blink blink disappear" element basically screams HELLO SIR I AM A VIDEO GAME REMEMBER DOUBLE DRAGON.

The controls still do not like that intuitive.

Well the wiimote implementation seems quite a bit better then how things were done in the original red steel. However, it seems the motion is 1:1, but there appears to be a half a second lag between the motion and it actually occurring on screen.

I get the impression that things are mapped 1:1 but, the motion sensing is not accurate enough to respond to small movements.

No blood, no limbs flying off, guys that just fade off screen?  Lame ass game

Cool little scripted sequence there at the beginning.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed near games.

It's quite sad that we're at a point where if a game doesn't have limbs flying off people it's considered a "lame ass game".

Yeah, blood seems like an easy thing to add in, perhaps they just kept the demo censored. The control definitely seems better than the original, but it doesn't seem like perfect 1:1 (and could still use some refinement), but it also doesn't look like you have to trigger a sword stance or something like that, which could be a nice feature. I dig the graphics for the most part, hope it turns out good.

Looks fun. I hope it has a multiplayer :P that would rock.

Did you play the multiplayer in the first? It was awful.

Not really... I was just thinking it might be interesting to fight with swords with a friend (block attacks and stuff). I guess, what I want is really want is a sword fighting game in Star Wars universe.

That looks good, but the sword control was weird... he said it's 1 to 1... but with him holding the controller with the nunchuck and wires then when he swings it doesn't look like what you see on the screen, especially with the time delay.  I'm just not interested anymore after what Sony showed off, I'm going to sell my Wii.

@Zeik
who made you the mightiest reviewer of games?  All I am saying is that you have a game, call RED fucking Steel, where the point is to hack and slash, then at some point not seeing blood becomes something that takes you out of the experience.  It also doesnt make sense as to why they dont do it if most people agree.  Plain and simple, getting a T rating will let them sell more copies instead of making a better experience.
Also, what is up with the guys blinking off screen?  Makes me feel like this belongs in the arcade where you rack up points instead.

Ya........ being dragged by a motorcycle over rocks usually fucks you up pretty good

"Red Steel 2 is a physically involving game" <_< so is everything else we do..... excretion of bodily waste is also physically involving

Edited by Kajaah117

Alright, God of War 3 has disappearing bodies but at least there's an effect when they vanish. Blinking and disappearing is just not acceptable anymore, even on the Wii. And I was stoked for the utilization of the Motion Plus for this game but... 2:30 into the video, there was little to no correlation between his inputs and the game's executions, not to mention the latency.

Either this was a canned demo and he didn't rehearse enough, or the game's implementation of Motion Plus is shotty at best. I hoped it's the former. :(

Edit: Looking at that section again, maybe it was just the 2 videos not syncing up. God I hope it's just that.

@Yagami:
Yeah, that finishing move on the big guy would have actually been cool had there been blood at all... I'm not asking for blood shooting all over the screen or anything... Just you know... when people get stabbed they should bleed...
Posted by MoistJohn

is it just me or did the sword wasn't completely one-to-one ? when he was moving and turning it around slowly, it reacted very well, but during combat, it seemed like it missed out a few times.

also, waggling.

Dead enemies flash away, no blood...? I enjoyed Red Steel's multiplayer, but this doesn't seem to have any real resemblence to Red Steel except you use a sword and a gun; oh and same devs...
