E3 2012: The Midnight Channel Returns In Persona 4 Arena

Dude that is a pretty good trailer.

Been playing a lot of this at arcades recently, it has that arksys feel for sure. At the same time though, they didn't just make Guilty Gear with Persona characters, it has some unique mechanics. Pretty enjoyable for the most part, should tear me away from BlazBlue on my Vita at least.

• Fan of kung-fu movies, especially one titled "Trial of the Dragon".
• Chosen fighting style is a martial art, mostly relying on powerful kicks (possibly Taekwondo).

Going from footage that was shown at the MCM expo recently, this trailer is actually exactly (minus the gameplay footage) what the characters see in the story mode for the first time when they realize the Midnight Channel has reawakened. They then gasp, surprised at what they've just witnessed, so the characters talking in this trailer aren't actually "them" who are talking, but basically phonies kind of like the Shadows in the original Midnight Channel.

Like others below me have said, the only voices that have changed are Teddie and Chie. All of the others are the original VAs.

They Spelled Charlie Tunoku wrong...

I'm kidding of course, but only slightly. Jeff and Vinny inspired my trend of naming Persona characters after food and drink brands.

Really? Chie and Teddie sound very different, but I swear the others sound a little different too.

Yep, Chie and Teddie's VA are the only ones that changed. They sound different cause any VA coming back to do a voice will have slight changes in the voice, cause it's hard to get it exactly the same. Look at stuff like South Park and Family Guy and how the voices have changed in them over the years even with the same people doing the voices.

had the same thought about the name changing. it would be a nice, relatively simple touch that many people would probably appreciate.

Teddie is basically Yosuke trying to imitate him. Chie's new voice isn't too bad though

The new Chie and Teddie voices are totally fine (Teddie less so, but that's probably more because he's having to do all the kind of grating high register yelling lines for the fighting game). What's bugging me is that Kanji voice. That didn't sound like Troy Baker at all. What the fuck, man? That's him, right?

I know, but they should have got another actor honestly, because his voice for Charlie is similar enough to Adachi's that it is recognizable and a bit weird...

That sounds exactly like Troy Baker to me (and, just to clarify, it is indeed Troy Baker), and the different tone is also done on purpose. Check the original Japanese trailer at the Kanji section (at 1:00):

It's Kanji's original Japanese VA, but if you are familiar with his Japanese VA you'll know that it sounds very much different from how Kanji normally sounds like. It's because of story reasons, naturally.
