Looked like whoever was on the controls was having an extremely hard time controlling the little kid. Hope that is worked out before release.

As someone with no real expectations this looked kinda underwhelming.

Finally as this was looking like the next running joke after DNF, if it doesn't hit 2016 all hell will break loose. Can't wait though as I love Team Ico's games.

Is this Ps3? Because it looks like the same thing they showed 8 friggin years ago. Not that it looks bad, its just, wtf. I figured if it "came back" it would look vastly different and better.

you fall but grab the tail? how are you supposed to account for that in trying to think ahead?

You're left with no choice but to jump for your life. That's how you learn that you could jump on the tail. At least, it seems like that was the purpose of leaving the kid stranded.

Yeah, I noticed that too. It worked with Ico because it was so early and unique and SotC because it made the battles feel so harrowing, but I could see it really ruining the tension in this game if you accidentally fell into a spiky hole because the controls weren't up to snuff.

hey just give it some more time. Maybe Gearbox will create a Duke Nukem game where Duke goes in to rescue The Last Guardian from development hell but instead gets stuck there himself. Duke Nukem X Last Guardian. Coming 2025.

The gameplay looked a bit rough, but that gives me hope that this game is actually going to be released. Video games don't play like polished E3 demos, and ICO and SotC were just as rough around the edges.

It's hilariously awesome that this game seems like it will actually come out.

I'm guessing that the story behind this game's development could very well be more interesting than the game itself, but I'm excited anyway. About time, huh?

God, I really hate the feeling of looking at this game and not really wanting to play it, but I don't. I mean, not only do I not really want to spend a game coaxing this thing to do stuff, but you just know they're going to kill it and it's going to be sad. Honestly, even though I know it's likely just to be a mechanical extension of your character, I've got trepidations about the Fallout 4 dog for the same reasons.

Like, unselfish beasts dying in horrible ways because of my stupid mistakes - that's not an experience I particularly want to spend my free time emulating.

This. I have no specific interest in this game and somehow I was still disappointed. Perhaps it's just too little, too late?

I'm so confused. Everything looks great but I don't understand the art direction of the kid. it looks too...cartoony. Just doesn't fit in with his surroundings.

It's Ueda's 3rd game. I don't care if the graphics don't look as good as they did 5 years ago or that a lot of these ideas have been done on the indie scene during that time so it's not as fresh of an idea as it used to be. ICO & Shadow are both still good games, hopefully this one will live up to the bar set by those two.

Now THIS is how you make a trailer. None of that scripted, wannabe action movie stuff that doesn't show how the game will actually play.

This sure would have been cool in 2009.

When i was decided to get a 360 or ps3 this is what pulled me to the PS eco system. Love my PS+ goodies and vita so no complaints. Also, since Ico and SotC are two of my favorite games of all time I will forgive them as long as this is as good as it looks.

I used to care about this game... at this point, it's too little too late.

I never understand the hype for this puzzle game, whilst when they first shown the game, the hype might have been about the graphics fidelity, because it was amazing for that time, now in 2015 this looks like a average graphics wise looking puzzle game, with barely any changes from the first showing (6 years ago), which to me is a complete riddle how they didn't manage to do anything at all in all those years.

The story and interaction between the "creature" and the kid might be interesting, deep and possibly a coaster of events, but I really have no desire to play it from what they shown 6 years ago or yesterday, at least 6 years ago, this looked like "impressive", today this looks like a indie game, but seeing other indie games at E3 2015 this even pales compared to them.

I love love love Ico and SotC, but man this was a poor demo. I'll remain sceptical, games that have gone through development hell rarely turn out to be good.

They should bundle this with Half Life 3 someday....

@fminus: It's the atmosphere and world that have been particularly strong from Team Ico's past games and to such a degree that I trust that they are going to manage it with this game too based on their track record. My excitement comes mainly from their track record but there's enough in what they've shown so far to make me think they'll manage something special again.

6 years and counting? More? Impressive that it's still going forward.

That demo reminded me of playing Papo & Yo, though.

They put together a small piece of gameplay that still evoked emotion from me. I'll probably never play this, because I don't have a PS4, and don't plan on getting one. But, I have little doubt that somewhere in that game, I would cry my little eyes out.

Coming in 2018.
