I can't wait for this.

I was really excited about the prospect of making my watermelon sweeter by adding salt.  I just went to my kitchen and added some salt to some I had and it tasted like watermelon with salt on it.  Persona 4 failed me!

Uh, salt doesn't make things sweet, as far as I know.

Someone in the comments said salt is added to watermelon because it tricks your mind/taste into thinking the watermelon is sweeter than it actually is.  Hmm, I suppose that's more of a comments section fail than a Persona 4 failure.

@golguin:

There is some logic there.  Put a sweet thing next to a non-sweet taste, and it will taste sweeter in comparison.  Same as the hot water/ cold water test, where cold water will feel a lot colder if you had just put your hand the hot stuff.

Magatamas lets you look into peoples hearts and tell if they're lying... and then you can break their psych-locks!

Pepper? What the Hell?  Oh well, people think I'm strange for putting salt on my watermelon.

Is there any riddle, no matter how lame, that the internet CAN'T solve for us?

I actually figured out the second one, though...  so it was OK.

If the school trip actually manages to land on episode 100 it would just be too perfect. Camping trip for 50, port island for 100=2 amazing episodes.

Yeah, ummm.......... i think its safe to say that Naoto is -OMFG SPOILERS-

A girl. Well i haven't heard her japanese voice myself, but i have been told that it is more convincing.

the reason a watermelon is a big deal in Japan is because in Japan, a watermelon can cost up to an equivalent of $100 (give or take) US Dollars

*Off topic*  Just a moment of silence for MJ, as the worst has befallen him...

And that's a crazy watermelon price.  Importation costs or?

MAN, A WATERMELON!

So in The Joy Luck Club, "opening the watermelon" has a sexual connotation to it. I'm not sure if Dojima was reacting to that or if I was just making up a dirty joke in my head...

"As long as they don't use the bat to attack, they'll be fine. Charlie can attack using his Personas, and it won't be affected by the bat's low hit rate. But when they perform an all-out attack, that makes use of the weapon's attack power, so it's not totally useless. But if they're going to be using Charlie's normal physical attacks often (which they probably will), then the Edge will probably work out a lot better for them."
Would increasing Charlie's almighty damage in rushes really be that effective, though?  It kills almost every shadow in one hit, anyway, and the increase in damage probably wouldn't make a meaningful enough difference against the few it's ineffective on.  The only time I could see it being useful is against bosses that can be knocked down and rushed like Shadow Mitsuo, but that'd still mean they should just keep the edge equipped against all regular shadows.

Take it nobody at GiantBomb haven't tried sprinkling a little salt on watermelon/honeydew/muskmelon (aka cantalope). As long as it's just a pinch or so of salt it's pretty good IMO. I keep expecting to see between the nightly visits last episode & this group session this time, for it to say that everyone left for the night except for Chie.

YA GOTTA SMACK IT OPEN.

The school festival totally has to be episode 100. So we'll be needing 90 minute long episodes all next week to make that happen.

Anyone else notice that Vinny thinks a protractor is a compass?  Protractor is the semi-circular thing that helps you draw angles.

My sister spent a summer working at a group/foster home thing in Japan. One time they went to the beach and there was a watermelon. They had he kids take turns, put on blindfolds, spin around in circles and then try to bash it with a stick. Basically it's like a piñata, but filled with melon.
