Everything Is Airborne and/or On Fire in This Latest Just Cause 3 Teaser

Fuck off, that's too rad!

From the creators of Vast Expanses of Nothing and Vast Expanses of Nothing 2 comes a revolutionary sequel Vast Expanses of Nothing 3. Featuring various vast expanses for you to do absolutely nothing in with a story that can only be described as why bother... in breath taking next gen graphics. Play the sequel to the game that no one actually tried to play because they got bored then installed some mods and dicked around in it for five minutes only to realize there's actually really nothing to do at all.

That's a very long way to go just to say you thought the game had nothing to do. I would like to think you're wrong about that since I spent hours just flying around and destroying/capturing things alone, but, you know, good commitment to the prose if nothing else.

As for the actual game being promoted over here: I'm looking forward to it. Surely terribly voiced story, guaranteed ridiculous moments and wingsuits with a side of grappling hooks? If you don't like that, you're anti-fun and it makes me sad for you.

I think you're getting your Jake Gyllenhaals and your caricatures of Al Pacino mixed up.

Getting the impression that you don't particularly care for them anyway, but while 'Invaders Must Die' wasn't their best album, 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' was stellar, along with all their earlier work.

And if a select few forgot, that is definitely a bad thing.

I was excited to watch this because, hey, it's a Just Cause 3 trailer...

But holy shit I was not expecting THAT. Very pleasantly surprising.

This game really needs co-op, all the dumb shit you can do will be twice as good with someone else.

Rico should have a younger female agent/apprentice who is later revealed to be the dictator you're going after's daughter.

Because that is the kind of terrible I want in a Just Cause story. Female co-op Rico.

Cool, it's that Gear of War teaser! Also, I think a person would have a very hard time keeping their eyes open without goggles traveling at such a speed.

You guys are right to get a Bond opening vibe. The car flying through the air is trying very hard to be reminiscent of early 60s British and European sports cars. It's actually kind of a crazy allusion to make, when realistically how many young guys have even seen the Connery-era Bond movies?

So to start with, the car:

I'm not much of a car guy, but here are some quick likely references I could dig up:

The most obvious reference, the Aston Martin DB5 was the car in Goldfinger, though the car in the trailer doesn't curve down as much at the front as the DB5.

The headlights and grill are closer to an Aston Martin DB4.

Some similarities to the Cunningham C-3 Continental.

Passing similarities to the Maserati 3500 GT?

But the way the rear end kind of flares out above the rear wheels is unlike most European cars of the era, and the closest thing I could think of was a 1967 Ford Mustang.

It's an interesting hybrid of a bunch of different cars.

I think they've all been good in their way but yeah, I thought the entire Invaders album was outstanding. So excited for March 30th.

That guy looks nothing like Rico from the other games. The guy is suppose to be known as a Latin pretty boy. This guy looks like a typical gruff action hero. But that detail aside, I hope the game is much better than the excellent Just Cause 2.

I like it when game devs know why their games are good.

I'm usually not sold from CGI trailers, but this was pretty epic.

I thought that Mass Effect 2 couldn't have been cooler, but this would be way fucking better.

It's Just Cause 3, so naturally it would have to be three grappling hooks.

Kind of a crappy trailer. I hope they learned lessons from JC2 as I found most of that game to be bad. They know what people want from that series, so let's see if they decide to give it to us.
