Dont like close quarters in battlefield games, but the destruction looks awesome though.

This map looks a lot better than the first one they showed.

Probably going to pass on this DLC and wait for the next with larger maps. This is a DLC seems specifically aimed at attracting MW players interested in constant action.

A first person shooter... how boring EA. This just looks like a Wolfenstein 3D clone.

Finally a trailer where I don't get filled with lead. :P

"One week early for our favorite child" Noooooooooooooo why have you forsaken me?!

Posted by Ooame

Who is looking forward to the 24/7 close quarters servers with 64 players on the PC?

Posted by Humanity

Yay exactly what everyone wanted.. tightly claustrophobic indoor Battlefield map with no vehicles..yay..

Posted by Unilad

Why are we still supposed to get excited about destructible environments?...its old now! give us something more!

Posted by Monopolized

@Humanity: that's what I wanted, especially playing hardcore where reactive armor on a tank basically makes in indestructible, but I guess that's more because people don't work together.

Posted by Jackel2072

i for one am excited for this DLC. sometimes its nice to take a break from full on conquest and just shoot dudes. The TDM in BF3 at the moment is ok, but the maps were really never designed for TDM. also nothing wrong with having a large variants of maps and modes, but im most interested in what End Game is all about? Nukes in Battlefield maybe? that could cool.

@KingCrimson4life: lol

I quite like the metro map in BF3 vanilla, I'll probably enjoy this DLC too.

Posted by dezvous

Long time BF fan here, BF2 is one of my favorite games ever. I'm totally pumped for this DLC. I feel like BF3 is the first game where infantry combat is much improved. It was always good, but now it's great.

Posted by MeatSim

Hopefully it's less of a meat grinder like Operation Metro.

Posted by jonnyboy

Looks like a Gears 3 map. Except without the sound of a million shotguns.

Posted by UberExplodey

This will get me back to play more BF3

Posted by BigChickenDinner

They should of called this

"Forced feeling of cooperative game play via tiny maps DLC"

Oh, the irony.

I am into highly destructible maps still, but who the hell asked for close quarters maps?

Posted by Gunslinger0130

Where am I going to find the space for this? My 360 only has a 20gb hard drive and I've got a stupid amount of usb keys on the go too, this is getting insane...

Posted by Humanity

@Monopolized: Well thats cool. Personally I liked the big open maps of BF games a lot more. Then again I just didn't get into BF3 that much as the map design and spawns really didn't appeal to me as much. I played the heck out of 1942 and BF2 but BF3 just kinda came and went for me. I suppose a big part of that is that a lot of my friends just quickly lost interest and playing with randoms is almost akin to torture sometimes.

New harddrives are not that expensive.

Posted by Christoffer

Debris dynamics at it's best. Can't wait.

Posted by WiqidBritt

I always feel like I don't play this game enough, I blame the lower player count on the 360 making the big maps feel empty

June? Wow!

jesus whats with the whiney negative hater community that GB has turned into? why can't BF3 have a map pack? every shooter does it. jesus people stop acting so high and mighty. its gross.

i thought GB was supposed to be different? was supposed to be more positive and friendly, not a thousand hater comments from people who probably dont even play BF3

Posted by GozerTC

*Shrugs* I haven't loaded BF3 in months, maybe I'll load thi sup? :(

Posted by Zlimness

One of the maps looks exactly like the building the Delta Squad team assaults in the beginning of Black Hawk Down. That's nice.

Posted by mlarrabee

Good Lord, what I wouldn't give for sixty frames per second on console...

Posted by Stahlbrand

This might be okay. I actually enjoyed the small/medium maps in BF3, but I haven't played it since early Feb.

Posted by EchoEcho

Obviously prefer large, open maps for Battlefield, but I'll still pick this up. A little variety could be nice. You can still get some fun and intense firefights in close-quarters even in BF. The game still isn't CoD, because it doesn't play like CoD, and supplying a handful of smaller, "arena" maps isn't going to change that in my mind.

Posted by McDunkin

I was just thinking the other day about how BF3 was missing an infantry focused set of maps. There is metro but the map is too much of a line and not enough of a circle so battles are very push and pull and more often than not end up being a meat grinder. Small focused maps will be a good shot in the arm for BF3.

Edited by Korolev

Looks okay, but it doesn't look like what BF3 should be. BF3 was never good at the "CQ-Gun-and-Run" combat. Your character moves too slow, respawn times take too long. It was always suited for a more open, ranged type of combat.

I'll probably be decent enough, but I'm not going to buy it.

EDIT: And I sure hope they have ways of getting rid of the rocket-spam that we see on Metro. That crap's not fun.

I actually couldn't agree more. I sort of stopped visiting GB because I found myself getting into arguments with people doing this exact thing in a place they didn't need to be doing it. If someone doesn't like something, for one reason or another, they don't need to ruin that space for others. Or attempt to, at least. Then some fool would launch into a free speech this, "I can say whatever I want" that.... And you know what, people can, but at the same time they get judged by what they say and the places they say them start to lose those who act more neighborly. In other words, if I believed in "God", he gave me the ability to piss. That doesn't mean I'm going to apply my stream wherever, and on whatever, I want just because "God" said I could.

On a more Battlefield focused note, this latest trailer kind of sold me on the map pack, where as the previous preview didn't. The reality of the gaming world is that people don't want to pay more than $60 for a game, but will bitch if a company tries to squeeze some more revenue out through additional content. The disgusting part is that in the last 10 years the average cost of a game, to the consumer, has only risen by $10. I highly doubt the budget for Battlefield 1942 was anywhere near the budget for Battlefield 3. People need to wake up and realize that everything costs more. Most things have inflated far beyond that of a video game. You may not like it, I don't, but it is reality and you cannot legitimately blame the game industry for economic inflation.

At least look at it this way, with "Back to Karkand" DICE has shown they're interested in giving the player/consumer excellent bang for buck with their "expansion" packs. Additional paid content is nothing new for the PC crowd.... Battlefield 1942 had 2 paid expansion packs. Battlefield 2 had 1 paid expansion and 2 paid "boosters". Battlefield 2142 had 1 paid expansion. Maybe the content for an expansion is less, more akin to Battlefield 2's "boosters", but if a game cost more to make (Battlefield 3), and people don't want to pay more for that added development cost, you'll end up paying the same for less.

I could rant on, but I won't. It wouldn't matter, LOL. So I'll quite wasting my time and go back to my beer. Cheers. :)

The giant maps aren't the only reason I love Battlefield.

Even in the big maps close quarters gets involved.

I'm down for this.

Will still be better than all the other FPS games with smaller focused maps.

Posted by Tennmuerti

If they fix the abomination that was the latest patch by the time this DLC comes out i might consider picking it up.

Posted by mewarmo990

I'm okay with getting more CQB maps, as long as it means more large vehicle-heavy conquest maps are also in the pipeline.

Posted by sofakingcool

Looks chaotic as hell.

Posted by chan05

My favorite BF3 modes are Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch. So these maps are perfect for me! Definetly going to buy it.

That sounds about as dumb as 24/7 2Fort servers with 32 players in Team Fortress 2. That map in particular definitely wasn't intended for that many players, so it just stalemates incredibly easily because there's a couple good chokepoints you have to defend and then that's that.

Posted by Etrips3

Can't wait to get all the shotguns in the world in my face, but all in all I can't wait enough for this mode to hit us! Come on June...don't be so lazy and come early!

1080p and when the reload icon shows up near the ammo counter it's [R]. It's the PC version.

Reminds me of Red Faction II. Primarily in how the destructibility felt way more scaled down than in the original Red Faction.

Let me dig 100 meter deep tunnels with my rocket launcher and C4 damnit!

@Chainblast: good rant

Very much enjoy BF3, CQB as much as anything else. I think if I played with a group rather than solo I might tend more toward vehicle maps, but solo I can do a lot more damage on foot.

Posted by McShank

@Branthog: most people dont have pc's capable of playing bf3 so they buy for console and it was not pushed for pc much either when advertised.
