When they say "MMO simulator", I wonder if there is as much MMO as there is Goat in this? Like, it looked like it had MMO trappings (health bars, names above heads), but is there actual multi-player? Not that it matters, it's still hilarious.

Well screw Dragon Age, here's my fantasy game

This is what I want to see from games. Chaos. And the conceit that the developers actually know it is a game. I hate the restrictiveness of so many of today's games. You have a medium where you can virtually do anything why limit yourselves with earthly physics and tired tropes.

Pick it, pack it, fire it up, come along

The reason the game currently only has local splitscreen multiplayer is that the devs had trouble making the physics engine work properly in online play, since the ridiculous physics engine is kind of the entire point of the game. Who knows, though, maybe they figured out a way to make it work. :)

No, but seriously, this is the culmination of every video game that's ever been released. What we have here is a meta commentary on the player's desire for freedom and fun. In early video games it was up to the player to devise his or her own setting and storyline due to technological restraints. Now, in most games, players have their narrative and gameplay experience overly saturated with summer blockbuster style pre-requisetes of core genres and hand holding. Goat Simulator is the antithesis of this where freeform fun takes priority with the contrasting effect of less is more. It's following in natural progression of the Minecraft clones. Many players enjoy building their own narratives, and considering what's usually provided for them, are right in lusting to do so. Maybe one day the guiding narrative in more AAA games will catch up to modern expectations of storytelling. Maybe one day there'll be a 20th month...
