Why is Drew the only adult man on this team? That dude will try anything, everyone else reminds me of a four year old, you're trying to convince to eat their vegetables.

"We just need to find a way to get the energy out of humans and into cars"

Like say, oh I don't know, a bicycle? Well... really one of those bicycle/motorcycle hybrids. Scooter or Moped or whatever the term is for that. You can pedal to charge up the battery and then use the battery to propel the bike.

I dont understand why Dan still claims aioli isnt mayonnaise when it clearly is, as Brad says, mayonnaise with extra stuff. By his logic, a vegetarian could add garlic to a steak and say 'I dont eat meat. Oh this? No its got garlic with it so it isnt steak'. I could understand it if he said hes never had plain mayonnaise, that would make sense. Im surprised this guy is still alive with all the dumb stuff he has divulged so far

@peakborn: According to wikipedia the eggs are not an essential part of aioli but will enhance the taste. Garlic and olive oil are the main ingredients.

Didn't know about this Dan guy yet but he sure is funny.

Thank you aioli guy and Bo for sending them the stuff!

The Dan & coffee thing is normal-ish I'd say. Coffee, like beer, is an acquired taste that even I often wonder why people get used to it.

I love coffee now, but I was a tea drinker only until age 20.

Dan is super fine, to me he just reminds me of Brendan Fraser from Blast from the Past. Hiding in a bunker for his entire life until GiantBomb hired him :D. It's not just his food experience, also games and life in general.

Those are just the ones that are played frequently on the radio and in movies. A lot of their really great stuff (Gimme Back My Bullets, Am I Losin', Whiskey Rock-A-Roller, etc) isn't played nearly as much.

As someone who would be considered an "intermational audience", I'm Canadian, I never heard those songs in my life, I'm 34. I can't recall any of them in movies either. Maybe Skynyrd is popular in the bible belt, but from here they have one hit, that's where I was coming from. I wasn't trying to imply they suck or can't play. Was just teasing. : P

Free Bird is one of the most beloved rock songs of all time, it's not some Bible Belt unicorn. It's also the last song in Guitar Hero 2.

@brad...egg whites? You're better than this. Mayo uses the yolk. I know the air is full of food ignorance over there, but do try to avoid catching it.

Dude, what? Do a quick google search

Mayonnaise is nothing else but tons of oil, tons of egg yolk and some vinegar or lemon juice. There's egg yolk free mayonnaise for people who don't want a cholesterol overload but it tastes nothing like real mayonnaise.

Once my girlfriend decided to make a home made mayo, and I saw how much oil and eggs go into that I decided to reduce my intake of it to a minimum.

Commercial mayo, and most home recipes, contain less than 10% egg yolk, and its purpose is as an emulsifier, it doesn't contribute a significant flavor to the final product. Most mayo is flavored with salt, sugar and mustard. Mayonnaise is also very low in cholesterol, Hellman's has 2% of the recommended daily value in a serving, for example. It is about 50% oil, though, so of course it's high in fat, but it's used in the same way as other fats so I'm not sure what healthy stuff you thought it would be made of? I guess a lot of people think of it as a dairy product because it's white, but that's just light reflecting off of the countless fat bubbles in the emulsion.

Egg free mayonnaise is easy to make; almost anything with some texture can be used in place of the egg to serve as the emulsifier, though getting it really stiff like the commercial stuff requires a strong emulsifier like soy lecithin.

Sometimes I wish they'd pull Jason in more since he's always behind the scenes and not on the Bombcast, but then we'd actually want him in stuff and then you have the same problem as before with Drew and Jason switching off for video engineering stuff instead of Vinny and Drew.

Plus I don't want to pull that man away from his duties. He's a machine. He's been posting quick looks at like 5:30 AM pacific time, which is crazy.

The staff have the ability to set timed releases to videos.

I don't know, folk rock is a very particular rural sound that conveys the loneliness of living there. It's downbeat and broken hearted most of the time, it doesn't have the mass appeal of something more positive, like Sweet Home Alabama. I doubt many Spaniards or Italians have heard Free Bird even once.

Pre-dinner snack! It's good for you!

Edit: Some nice Swedish pronunciation by Dan btw. Pretty off but actually fairly understandable which is a lot better than most =)

Also I would like to point out that the salt on salt licorice is not the same as table salt. Table salt is Sodium Chloride while Salmiak is Ammonium Chloride.

I was eating breakfast and that image made me throw up a little. Thanks.

Can someone clarify: Did Dan ever actually eat mayonnaise and didn't like it or is he just disgusted by the thought even though he clearly loves garlic mayonnaise?

I've heard most of those songs on regular ass radio in Germany and Poland. Mostly at night while driving down the freeway or some backwoods road.

I keep cringing at about every third sentence Dan says. However I gotta say I appreciate Dan's honesty and the fact that he gives zero fucks what anyone thinks. Dan's alright.

Meh... It's fine, don't get me wrong, but I'm never a fan of guitar just for the sake of guitar... It needs to fit into the song. That's why I'm not a fan of Malmsteen or Satriani. Those guys are amazing guitarist and it's very impressive technically but it has no soul... It's just guitar to be guitar.

Aioli isn't Mayonaise, just like cake isn't eggs. Mayo is an ingridient of Aioli.

I've never tasted an energy drink either Dan. I just haven't felt the need to. If I feel like I need more energy I go to sleep or have a coffee.

Good mailbag guys.
