I'm super excited for this game, but I'm also a sociopath.

Posted by Heycalvero

Oh man, this trailer. I really need to play this.

Posted by Lyfeforce

Wow, that is some rather haggard stuff going on in that trailer.

Posted by AMyggen

Loved what I saw when Patrick played it, looking forward to this!

Posted by JeanLuc

I saw this at PAX East. Can't wait to play this.

Posted by GalacticPunt

That's an interesting way to "provoke" someone... o.0

Posted by paulunga

Wow, that shit looks dire. I played the original gamejam stuff, that one felt more academic than anything. This seems to have much more intense and direct consequences to the stuff you do. Can't wait.

Hotline Miami meets adventure/god games? Looks like a pretty decent mind fuck from the trailer, sign me up.

Edited by HammondofTexas

@hammondoftexas: Lucky for us sociopaths don't get excited.

That's not true at all. I'm excited about using you for my own means in the near future.

Posted by WindFall259

Well, that's fucked up.

Posted by Damodar

Does literally every single choice in the game result in somebody being horribly maimed or murdered? :P

Posted by Chet_Rippo

BLOOD

Edited by Mikemcn

fuck thats fucking fucked.... UP!

Posted by Accolade

@damodar: The original browser game was about helping as many people to survive as possible. But some decisions caused death over time.

Edited by rmanthorp

Sweet! Can't wait.

Hey i remember this one from one of Patrick's videos. Will check out.

I need to consume this.

Posted by GunstarRed

Every action makes somebody die or get injured in some way. No thanks.

Posted by Ubertron986

Jesus Christ. This looks great and also terrible.

Edited by kubqo

I feel like you would have to book an psychiatrist appointment after finishing this game.

Posted by Ford_Dent

Well, this has my attention. I hope there are non-murdery decisions you can make.

I'm very excited to see that games are tumbling down such an adult hill these days. Devolver is bringing a specific, dark tone to their work and it's quickly becoming their signature. Challenging tropes is always fresh territory.

Posted by heatDrive88

What in the fuck did I just watch?

Devolver Digital is truly doing God's work in video game publishing.

Posted by coheno

Oh man this is great! I totally am going to play this!

Edited by DaddyCabinet

Everytime I see this game it looks better and better.

Yeah, this seems like "do you want to do horrible things to barely characterized pixelated guy A or barely characterized pixelated guy B?"

I am all for tough decisions and such, but this just seems a little sadistic from the trailer. I hope the actual game justifies these kinds of decisions in some way. Also, to note, "tough decisions" and "sadistic choices" only hold weight and impact when they come occasionally. If every mission involves them, then it will be about as impactful as blowing up dudes in Brutal Doom.

Wow, this just jumped ahead in the polls. looks bloody excellent.

But I'm a weirdo.

Of course there are. There was very clearly a suicide.

This game looks like nothing else I've seen (the gameplay not the art), which is saying something. Of course, I have no idea what the actual gameplay really is.

Posted by Edmundus

This looks fascinating, but as others have said I hope it's not just a case of 'which horrible thing do you choose?'

Every action in the trailer makes somebody die or get injured in some way. Go watch some videos of the original version and I'm sure you'll get a different perspective on what the game should actually be. I don't think for a second that a majority of your choices will be brutal - most will likely be seemingly mundane.

I can't speak for the full games' scenarios, but the one scenario on the original version had you juggling all sorts of actions that ended up having adverse effects on the survivors. You could only do so much per day, and that meant that eventually, unless you were doing perfectly, someone was going to go insane and run off - which would instantly effect the rest of the group. If you take that base idea and flesh it out and go down a... darker road, I can see situations like the ones in the trailer emerging, instead of just "so and so ran off."

Man, I'm really liking the vibe of this trailer, it really brings to mind movies by Nicholas Winding Refn, like Drive, Valhalla Rising and Only God Forgives (those are just the ones I saw)

I recall this being super cool.

This is why you never go into space in our space-trucker future.

I only played that original version for a short time, but I had a lot of fun with it so I'm really interested to see what the full release adds to it. Things seem to go in some very strange directions in this trailer, but again I'm curious to see how it all ties together.

I'm not a god, but I will be watching...

/facepalm

"Every decision comes with a burden"? I hope not because I sincerely doubt all those decisions will have the intended weight if each choice is a terrible one. I was also a little surprised that "Provoke" meant ripping a guys tooth out. That could be a serious issue, as I assumed it would be anything from a verbal provocation to some minor physical abuse at best. I hope this game is good, but this trailer didn't inspire much faith. I know I only have what the trailer revealed to comment on, but darkness for the sake of darkness isn't a good reason for a story to be grim.

This is one of my most anticipated titles of the year. I love games where the choices actually matter.

Posted by StarvingGamer

Never heard of this but it looks cool and I love the title.

Posted by smellylettuce

Holy shit, I played the original game jam version, but this is sooo much darker and disturbing. Will definitely check this out again. I do love me some morality sandboxes.

Posted by hollitz

I love when games can unsettle me with violence. This game looks vicious.

Also very interested to see how well they handle choice. Hyped.

Posted by KyleBsure

Soooo glad I backed this on indiegogo.

Thanks to the GB crew for shining a spotlight on this one.

Posted by DedBeet

Looks interesting but too bleak for me to play. I wish the developers well, however, as it does look well crafted.

Now thats some pixel art I can get behind!

Looks really cool.

Edited by Mertado

Look mom! They made an 8 bit Manhunter! w00t!!

Edited by AssInAss

Finally, a game to evoke I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.

Games to explore the darkest recesses of humankind through ethical and moral dilemmas.

Yup. This is going to be amazing, hopefully.

Pre-ordered.

I shuddered while watching this

Posted by Authorman

so this is basically really hardcore mcpixel.

i can get down with that.

Posted by lockonandfire

What the shit happened to this? I'm not necessarily complaining, but this is rather different from its original form.

Posted by jiggajoe14

I remember watching patrick play the game jam a while back. Weird how this game has evolved but I'm totally intrigued.
