Yeah I just watched this and it looks pretty cool.

Japanese don't take to being forgotten when horror seems to be having a resurgence.

First part felt like Silent Hill, second part felt like RE4. I'm sold.

Wish it came this year, and not next year.

Looks good for the most part. They certainly have the horror aspect down from an atmospheric and monster perspective, but once the shooting came, while it reminded me of RE4 in a way due to the part where he was trying to keep those guys out; the look of the setting and well, guns, the shooting just didn't look that good.

I'm not adverse to it being there, but I hope since it's there, even if it could perhaps be a small part, that it's good. Some of it was cliche, like hiding in lockers, and from a trailer point of view as well. I knew from the get-go that something at the end would attack or outright kill the protagonist and then cut to the title, and I wish that weren't so, but that has nothing to do with the game.

I have a hard time telling if this would only work as a game, or if this would work as a horror film as well, but as a game, it seems like it's one that'll work, which is great. I'm not a fan of horror films; as you watch them, they're not that great, though after when you can conjure up in your imagination, applying those creepy things in reality, then it can get spooky, but I love horror games because they often have a fantastic atmosphere that you just want to experience.

Games to me also have an alternate effect than film; when I play horror games, they can freak me out in the moment, which films just don't really do, but when I'm done playing, it has no effect on me, which films do.

Mikami still got it.

This looks an awful lot like Resident Evil 6 to me, from the graphics engine and visual style, to the gunplay and combat, and the ways the enemies animate and behave. I have no problem with that, as I feel like I'm one of the few people who actually liked that game, but I get the sense that people are letting themselves get carried away with hype for the prospect of a new Mikami horror game and allowing themselves to overlook what this game actually appears to be.

I'm looking forward to it, but anyone who thinks most if not all of the same criticisms leveled at RE6 won't apply to this are kidding themselves.

That running animation looks so bad. The mine trap was like a poof. The handgun sounds flat. The player character model looks silly and dated.

It looks a little rough around the edges, but it looks like it could be a return to form for this kind of game, which I am pretty much down with.

That limp looks really, really fucking annoying.

@kzebski: wtf are you talking about... this looks great. All people do nowadays is complain about something ffs. Just enjoy it and if this is not for you then go play something else.

Love the style, hopefully the animation gets cleaned up a bit before release.

This video did not do a good job of selling the game. I get that it's not finished yet but it just looks like a generic gritty shock-horror game with a bad framerate. And what's up with the apeman run?

I wonder what system this is running on? The framerate hitched a bunch and it doesnt really look that good (at least by next gen standards). The shooting also didnt look that good and the enemies didnt react to bullets as well as they do in re4/5... Besides that, I'm still excited. It still has a long ways before release, and I wouldnt be surprised if it gets delayed

Also, I like that it's using a wider aspect ratio than 16:9. Something about letterboxing gives whatever I'm watching a more cinematic feel.

Kind of up and down on this. I like this type of game, but parts of it seem dumb, like getting chainsawed and then limping until the limping section is over and then being fine. And I guess it just seems like too much of a rehash of horror tropes without much sense of originality. The blood hallway and the hair lady were cool, but the chainsaw guy and RE4 callbacks came off as goofy to me. I'm still really interested in the game, I'm just getting a huge Last of Us/Outlast mashup vibe but with camp undertones.

This may as well be Resident Evil 4-2. I'll only buy it if the PC version has TressFX for that sick monster hair.

Looks too creepy for me, in a good way. Reminds me alot of REmake. I look forward to watching someone else play this because I'm to chicken to do it myself:D

This looks stellar. Most unnerving game I have ever seen.

I like how that dude can catch up to you when you can run full speed and have a head start, but when you are limping and falling down he can't seem to quite get you

Seems like Shinji Mikami still get's it.

I was really unhappy when Bethesda announced this and not Fallout 4. Now I take all that back and I feel better about this again. I honestly can't wait to sit in my room at 1AM playing this.

I.....dunno about this game. Looks like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Outlast had a threesome. But not with amazing results... We'll see. 2014 is a long ways away.

This is looking like RE4, but that's not a bad thing. I'm excited to see more.

RE6 was awful because the game was constantly taking control away from you so you could do QTE's. Now, this game could be chock full of 'em, but in the 11 minute demo I just watched I didn't see a single one.

If you think this and RE6 have the same problems, I don't think you understand why RE6 was so awful.

Definitely next-gen. Didn't the fabric physics and sharp shadows give it away?

Holy shit! That looks so good! I can't wait to be horrified! Haven't really played a good survival horror since dead space 2 and it was pretty much an action game anyway. Jinkies!
