Yukes/THQ: We take out features from previous games and add them later in future titles and be all excited about them like they are so new......uh huh, oh by the way...we are releasing the new wwe title within months later..we are the new EA.

They needed to start from scratch.

Are they still optimising these games for PS2? 

The fucking five moves of doom are in the game. Guess this one really is the most authentic WWE game to date.

I think the issue with these games is mainly that the superstars suck these days.  I don't care about CM Chunk and John Teena.  WCW vs. NWO Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000 4 Life!

Why don't they just made a WWF adventure/RPG game instead?  The actual matches are the most boring part of these games, and usually on the real show as well.

I swear they've added most of these features in past games before.

Smackdown vs Raw is like my Madden.  It doesn't matter than it's the same game over and over.  I'm going to keep getting it just to stay current.

At least they're going back to face buttons instead of the crappy limited Right Stick movesets

CM Punk is the only reason I watch wrestling (casually) hes a good wrestler and he has INCREDIBLE mic skills and charisma, if Punk wasn't wrestling I wouldn't give a fuck about Raw. (I don't even care about smackdown or any other wrestling shit)

Huh, I was gonna say something snarky but that actually looks like they are addressing a lot of the problems with the games in the past.

as a huge fan of wrestling games, there are some things that are pretty interesting here. they've finally nailed the camera work right when it comes to mimicking how the cameras are during an actual WWE broadcast. the thumbnail for this video is kind of photorealistic, which is neat. also, i'm glad they fixed the AI, but i can't really say until it's released, of course, if the AI is actually a challenge. the AI in some of the other games were dreadfully boring.  
 
it's also cool to see the Day of Reckoning / TNA iMPACT thing where you can finally interrupt moves. it doesn't seem as crazy as the games that i mentioned, where dudes flew everywhere, but at least it's there now so you don't have to wait 10 minutes for some dude's finisher to end. storing finishers returning is also neat, since it really came in handy when you and a friend just wanted to do flying finishers on a poor AI opponent.  
 
this one, like the other games, has minor changes that... kind of make want to buy it, but i hope the WWE Universe mode is in this game, along with the awesome janky table / ladder / everything physics that '11 had. if they can fix the awfully boring commentary (which i doubt they'll be able to. Just Bring It! still has the best commentary ever), and make the AI interesting, this might be one of the better titles since 06.

You know Meowshi, you and the 80s have a lot in common. It's the last decade you mattered.

I was REALLY disappointed with last year's game, so I'm cautiously optimistic about this. They better put out a demo that shows all this off.

I will wait for a demo, as the gameplay changes they talked about don;t sound all that good to me. I really enjoyed the combat of the last few SVR games, but the problem with the game for me always came down to two things: The online was laggy as all hell and the CAW levelling up system blew. If they fix the lag, add in some system to prevent idiots from constantly rage quitting matches, and make the RPG aspect of the CAWS interesting and deep again then I will probably pick this up when I get a chance.

I am into it. But fuck if I will be buying this day one, especially in No-Cash November. Oh wait, Christmas. I'll get it then. Is WWE Universe mode back? I thought that with some improvements that mode could be awesome.

This all looks really good and all, but have they fixed the part where you can beat the story mode in like 3 hours?

I was going to make fun of this as being the same as before, but it actually looks like a legit improvement in several aspects. Unfortunately, I'm still not interested in this due to the fact that we are not in the year 1999.

Seriously, why don't they just make a rehashed HD version of Wrestlefest from 1991 and make it a downloadable title? Or better- just make more DLC for All Stars , instead of this annual crap!

graphics look like SHIT. Online will be Randy Orton vs Chris Jericho, or two similar people with instantaneous finishing moves.

Graphically this doesn't seem like much of an overhaul. It's always telling when someone touts depth of field as a bullet point. That's pretty much the new lens flare, isn't it?

Gameplay-wise, being able to break animations is something they should have done years ago. Limb targeting was in earlier games and inexplicably taken out. I'm curious to see if they fix the lock-on system for matches that aren't one-on-one, since the season modes inevitably make you play them at some point.

I know for a fact that interrupting moves will be a total bitch in multiplayer and the animation in general still looks broken.

wrestling games died after wrestlemania 2000 - what a shame

Literally counting down the days until this one is released, probably my most anticipated game this year.
